Re: Stavia's Vegetarian very low fat trial

i've read that stress depletes serotonin. i don't know the mechanism. low serotonin triggers carb cravings. i need to eat LC because i easily get high bg even from fruit. for me i would need to tackle lowering stress as the ultimate solution.

Re: Blood glucose levels

"...long term HFLC dieters often see a rise in body fat : muscle mass, which is also annoying." people as they head into middle age often have that body composition problem. so is it the diet or aging? i'm 52 and my previous carb restricted diet is not working as well as it used to. i'm hi...

http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2013/07/31/anemia-linked-to-increased-risk-of-dementia/ dementia can come from a mix of different causes. in addition to dealing with apoe4 and progranulin gene status, as well as other genetic vulnerabilities for dementia, we need to monitor iron stores in ourselves as...

Re: awake for colonoscopy?

i feel i have to have a colonoscopy- the benefits outweigh the risks. when i first had heavy periods leading to anemia, my family doctor wanted to rule out internal bleeding, so i had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. they found polyps when i was just 42. the doctor said that was highly unusual. two y...

Re: is over-pruning of synapses by microglia an issue in alzheimer's

from what i'm reading so far, it seems that over-pruning may start at an early age, but the brain compensates by making new synapses. then at some point the balance shifts- maybe there is some trigger to accelerate the overproduction of complement proteins. so far now, i want to keep the balance wei...
