Re: Timing of supplements

Are there certain times of the day that are recommended as the best time to take the Bredesen suggested supplements? I've been wondering whether or not I'm taking them at the best times of day, the right ones together, etc. I'm taking a lot of supplements! I don't remember this being discussed spec...

Re: Calcium supplements and dementia

The cardiovascular link is not new, but I didn't know about the dementia link. I'd love to here members take on this. Here's the CVD-calcium link for members who aren't aware of it. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4125316/ My recollection of my reading/research at the time of the cardi...

Re: New E3/E4, terrible blood results

Stavia, I do not have a dr appt today. I was talking about a patient of mine. the "dds" in your username is the clue I think! And external looks and internal health can be quite deceiving as far as lipids are concerned, especially in those of us with weird genetic propensities. My dad was...

Re: RE: Re: Our first guest: Dr. Thomas Dayspring...

Zetia (Ezetimibe) can effectively lower LDL-C, but doesn't seem to have any effect on actual CVD events. Even when combined with a statin, the benefit appears to be negligible leading me to have doubts about this approach. Mechanistically, it makes sense for hyperabsorbers, but the data just isn't ...

Re: Healing leaky gut

In case you are not aware of him; Dr Gerard Mullin is a fantastic functional medicine gastroenterologist out of Johns Hopkins. He has two books out that you might find helpful: The Inside Track and The Gut Balance Revolution . The second book is written as a "weight loss book"; my theory i...

Re: New E3/E4, terrible blood results

Soz; In my experience, NMR is a Labcorp laboratory company test for specialty lipids that is similar to the Health Diagnostic laboratory company tests your doctor ran. I am assuming that the testing methodology for the two labs is equivalent. It's possible that they both outsource to the same tertia...

Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women

I just left my yearly ob/gyn appointment and my dr has me on Duavee. Does anyone know if this will be sufficient for helping to prevent AD? I am about to turn 49. I tried to explain to him that I need to keep the estradiol to progesterone ratio in my blood at 1:5. He did not seem to know what I was...
