Re: New & Three Questions

Hi mala ... a strong welcome! Wow, I'm impressed with all that you have done already, in your reading and about your health in general. You've gotten great suggestions from site members, and I particularly like Magda's suggestion that you explore possible microbiome (gut) issues. What we 'eat' is on...

Re: Hello

Thank you all for the warm welcome! And, suggestions of where to begin. I feel like I may be a lurker for a while since my concentration must be my mom during her final journey. I have begun some small changes in my life but will concentrate more on me once my caregiver days are behind me... My mom...

Re: Exercise with Minimal Impact

Sara, there’s a great series called Sit and Be Fit, it’s svailable in my area on cable. They’re all exercises done while sitting, and there are tons of episodes. Bastyr University used to have a course you could purchase (not expensive, dvd through the mail I think) on Arthritis, that had a section ...

Re: Is ketosis working the way it should in my body?

YMMV - your mileage may vary. A way to indicate that two (or more) people may react completely differently to the same stimulus. (Taking the same amount of a particular supplement might be good for one, do nothing for another, and actually make a third feel worse, for example.).

Re: Asked to do book review on Dr. Bredesen's _The End of Alzheimer's_ help, please

I like Jena's suggestions, drae. I definitely think YOUR personal story will resonate with the group. You might start off with acknowledging that heretofore society hasn't thought that prevention or reversal was in any way possible. Add that Dr. Bredesen's clinical work clearly shows that it has hap...

Re: MIND diet

Fingers crossed that you can start your walking regimen again soon, Kris. Don't forget making some time each day to just relax, to 'visualize' being able to do the things you want to do again, and to practice deep and steady breathing often. Our hearts are with you.

Re: Anyone else doing a low saturated fat Ketogenic diet?

Hello, Paulski ... thank you for the suggestion of hemp and flax milk. I've tried both, I believe, but have not made them myself. I'm a fan of any dairy substitute, since I figured out how much better I feel without dairy. If you have a personal recipe for making either, we'd love to have you add it...

Re: Introduction

Hi PW1955, I see you've been registered on the site for a while, and are now posting. Wonderful! I also see your strong motivation, because of your family history, and am so glad you are focused on prevention. It seems you've already made progress with your Bredesen-trained nutritionist, kudos to th...
