Re: Unfortunate side effect from melatonin.

I suspect that it is melatonin itself that causes the watery diarrhea. I have take magnesium supplements without any diarrhea, yet my melatonin experience led me to initiate the experience on this site. I happen to be Apoe3/4, but I doubt there is any relation to ones Apoe status.

Re: Just discovered I'm 4/4, rocked.

Trevor, Finding out that you are 4/4 is your wake up call to start living a healthy life style. Alzheimers is a disease of modern civilization, highly correlated with refined sugars, flour and seed oils. You may have a genetic risk, but you can significantly minimize that risk thru epigenetics. In a...

Re: Unfortunate side effect from melatonin.

It is rewarding for me to see that so many people have benefited from this post. Relentless watery diarrhea is no fun and who would have guesses it was caused by melatonin.

I must admit, melatonin was the last thing I would have thought would cause diarrhea. And since it took abo...

Unfortunate side effect from melatonin.

I recently developed persistent watery diarrhea(5-10x per day). I had been eating grapefruit which I stopped , and then cut out all my suppliments except 1mg of melatonin. The diarrhea persisted without relief, so I assumed I must have giardiasis. After a negative culture, I stumbled upon a web site...

Re: New to the family!

Welcome to the family. Before I discovered that I had the APOE4 gene, I had already read Bredesen's book. What I had always believed to be a hopeless diagnosis, is in reality anything but. I consider this knowledge a blessing in that it will give me the incentive to live a healthy life style (Bredes...
