Re: Dr. Steven Gundry with diet recommendations for ApoE4

Apod wrote So, with sprouted brown rice, nightshades in my pressure cooker, legumes in my pressure cooker, oat bran in my pressure cooker, I should be relatively-ok, since these are wheat germ agglutinin free? I believe yes, except for the oat bran. Also from the dinner Q&A session at the Ances...

Re: Dr. Steven Gundry with diet recommendations for ApoE4

Apod wrote Can I really just put a tomato and zucchini in my pressure cooker, hit the 1 minute high-pressure button, and consider this a non-issue? (And, why can't I do that with a grain like oat bran?) As I understand it, not all lectins are the same. Dr Gundry says the issue with grains isn’t glut...

Re: What causes Insulin resistance?

I wish the subject article had more relevance/specificity to Apoe4. I think SusanJ hit it with her comment: I think we also have to look at genetics. I also second Susan’s comment: Now as far as the studies, what types of fats were they referring to? Count me as another N=1 whose blood sugar and oth...

Goldthread,

I thought of something else that might help, are you aware that there is "cheese" made from nuts/nut milk. It doesn't taste exactly like the cheese we grew up with, but it might be something to add to the diet.

George, the 20 g/80 cals/day "animal protein", does that include any seafood based protein, or just land animals?

George must have missed this question. That answer is the only animal protein we eat is wild caught shellfish, white fish or omega-3/or pastured eggs.

Re: Keeping Weight ON with the Bredesen/Wahls/Gundry food plan for Apoe3/4

Mac wrote Gundry professes lectins are bad, yet sells a supplement (unknown efficacy) to those who consume lectins?! True, but if you listen to the Q&A session that he gave to us at the Ancestral Health Symposium, he stressed it is not a license to kill. It's more like help when you've been invi...

Re: Keeping Weight ON with the Bredesen/Wahls/Gundry food plan for Apoe3/4

Goldthread, How are you? So sorry to hear about Kathleen's weight/lack of appetite issues. George and I also follow a Bredesen/Gundry/Wahls approach. You may remember at the Ancestral Health Symposium we asked Dr Gundry about the best way to keep weight on and he recommended eating Macadamia Nuts. I...

Re: bad 5-day water fasting experience

Juliegee wrote why not consider a fibroid embolization I had one 14 years ago. I didn't realize I felt so bad until after the procedure when I felt so much better, which is one of the reasons I am not completely eliminating the thought of surgery now. I wish I had been more prepared for my doctor to...

Stavia wrote Honestly - if you're having no symptoms from it why would you want surgery? I DON'T want surgery, 3 surgeries on my right foot in the last four years is ENOUGH for me! But if it’s best...well maybe, but not jumping into anything without exploring options! There’s one thing that I might ...

Re: bad 5-day water fasting experience

Katie S thank you for your take! You wrote, Do you feel any difference cognitively with the lower estradiol level? Great question! I was on a fast that upped my ketones, which is supposed to enhance cognitive ability, but I went to an extremely low level of estradiol and estradiol is supposed to be ...
