advanced glycation end products

In Dr. Bredesen's wonderful book, he says on page 189, "14. Avoid damaging your food when you cook it. The goal is for the food to taste good, while minimizing the loss of nutrients and the production of AGEs (advanced glycation end products.) AGEs are glycotoxins created by a reaction between ...

Re: Newcomer interested in finding health coach

I can highly recommend my Functional Medicine guru. Her name is Sue Bentsen and she connects via phone calls so she can help you wherever you live. That may be offputting to some but I assure you her methods work well. Plus she is the kindest, most generous person you could ever meet. Her contact de...

Re: Seattle Meet-Up

[quote="mkhikergirl"]Is there going to be a meet-up in July? My schedule has changed and I may be available rather than waiting until an August meeting. -------------------------------- We might be able to get together next week but this week I have a houseguest who comes late to the dinne...

Is hair dye bad for us?

I'm 84 and finally thinking I should let my hair go gray. Both of my children have it, for heaven's sake. But it is actually bad for me? I usually have touch-ups once a month. I searched for this topic through the forums and the Wiki but found little except for some about getting gray early. Thanks ...

Re: 'All of Us' Precision Medicine Initiative Is Getting Underway!

Wonderful! I wandered into the website via a search on NIH.gov. Then found this thread, which gave me more confidence about signing up, which I did just now. Thanks everyone. It would be interesting to know how many of us are in it.

Re: Timing of supplements: empty stomach or food? Combinations?

I read all the way through this thread. I am still confused :-)

I'd like to have "a show of hands" for those who have purchased any/all of the guides sold on Examine.com. If so, which ones do you recommend?

Taking calcium channel blockers for high blood pressure

My P.C. is recommending I take amlodipine, aka Norvasc, to treat my high blood pressure, a new thing for me in the last three years. I was always 120/60. Now I run in the 140s or 150s over 70s and 80s. Can anyone advise me? I searched through the Kindle version of Bredesen's book and could find noth...

Re: Possible Alzheimer's Vaccine

https://www.wired.co.uk/article/alzheimers-vaccine-united-neuroscience Ron, thanks a MILLION for posting this. I've been on a campaign to dispel the myth that a diagnosis of Alzheimer's is a death sentence. Dr. Bredesen has already helped dispel that to some extent, but this woman is a total genius...

Re: Seattle Meet-Up

I am wondering if all of our little group would agree to using regular email -- it would be so much faster for me. I have an addr for Debbie and Shenmen but would love the others. You could PM me with your info. I am calling a meeting for this coming Wednesday at 7 pm at my place, just to get this o...
