Preliminary Results on DDT and AD

I think I'll stop eating imported produce! Better to buy locally anyway. http://www.jwatch.org/fw108400/2014/01/28/pesticide-byproduct-linked-alzheimers-disease?query=pfw Here's a DDT fact sheet: http://npic.orst.edu/factsheets/ddtgen.pdf Rather interesting anecdote. My grandmother got AD in her ear...

Herpes Virus and AD and Heart Events

Any connection??? I had shingles (Herpes Zoster) at age 46, but it looks like the herpes maybe related to AD is Herpes Simplex. Thoughts anyone? Herpes SIMPLEX as a risk factor for AD http://www.alzforum.org/webinars/herpes-simplex-and-alzheimers-time-think-again One commenter here says: "Paul ...

Video: New Perspectives on Apoe and Alzheimer's

Wow, I thought this was really good, and helpful. Part summary, part new explanation. A little scary at points. Just think before and after about all the ApoE 4s who don't get AD, and all those who do get AD who aren't ApoE4! IE, it's not all genetic. The video touches on the complexity of ApoE4 wit...

Re: Things Here That May Lower Our Amyloid Burden

It's interesting none of the BA directed drug candidates has worked, the government just poured 10s of 1000s of dollars (100s of 1000s?) into more BA studies.

Even if one or more of these doesn't help ApoE4 in particular, I'm hoping doing them all I'd get some BA benefit somewhere?

Re: Things Here That May Lower Our Amyloid Burden

Note I put *may* since they may not all help ApoE4? Whether the reduced AB levels or neurotoxic burden equate with postponing, preventing or treating AD is another question. Let's add studies under the items and note what, if anything, the study says about ApoE4. You can add by just copying the post...

Re: Primates and 4/4

Cordain didn't mention paleo by name. I just called it that 'cause it was expedient, and pretty true. No apology needed! I remember the days I couldn't cover everything online that I wanted to, *before* time-consuming but interesting videos were everywhere too!

Just watched the whole thing. Great overview! Thanks for posting. Will send to folks who want to better understand the paleo POV :-)
