Re: Prolon Mimicking Diet

I know at least one here has spoken of doing the fasting mimicking diet with a home concocted food list that matched the Prolon macros. I’m having trouble finding how to do this in the forum, hoping to see some templates others have already devised. Any tips? (I haven’t googled yet since others her...

Re: Hello :) - I have just joined!!

Sadly, a number of people in my family have, or had, Alzheimer’s. I realized watching my grandfather and, 20 years later, my mother, gradually deteriorate from once-vibrant people is devastating; so, too, can be the challenges and stresses on the caregivers. My mother began living with my young fam...

Re: Hello!

Hi all, it's great to find this group. I've lost many family members on both my mother's and father's side to dementia. After caring for my father for over 10 years, I finally had a genetic test and learned today that my APOE allele is a 3/4. The result was no surprise. If anything, I had suspected...

Re: Massachusetts newbie

Good Morning All, I am new to this forum and relatively new to my 2 allelle ApoE4 status. Late in 2018, at age 70, I started to have difficulty with concentration, sequencing, memory, and balance. I fell twice, injuring myself once, had to concentrate hard to drive and returned home to a smoky hous...

Re: Scared!

My name is Cindi. I just got my results yesterday from the DNA health test I did with 23andme. I have 2 copies of apoe4, one from each parent. I am a nurse and have seen first hand the devastation Alzheimer's does to families and patients. I am in shock and scared. I am 50 and have no immediate fam...

Re: Gene Therapy Trial for ApoE4 Homozygotes

Is this trial still opened? I was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment by a neurologist after an evaluation by a psychologist several months ago. But I didn't have any scans. Would I have to get a scan thru my neurologist or how can I get one ordered? Fredsbrain, Welcome to the APOE4 community....

Re: Help with my labs

I am a 30 y/o female and I'm going to meet with my ND next week. She wants to follow up with me because she's concerned about my family history (lots of AD and CVD) and high LDL cholesterol. My numbers earlier this year: LDL-142 HDL-69 Total-220 Trig-44 :D Hello wocky, Welcome to the site! Congratu...
