Re: Stories of Older ApoE4s That Don't Get AD, At Least Not

@Circular and @Juliegee Thank you for the encouraging news about your mothers. They both sound as if they could hold their own against any age group. Julie, after telling us all the things that your mother does, you added that your mom is taking full time care of your 96 year old grandmother with AD...

Re: New category? Conferences & Events

I think having a new category for conferences and events is an excellent idea. "Upcoming Events" is my choice for title because it could include conferences. I would think that the number of events would outnumber the number of
conferences as well.

Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women

Hi Circular, Thanks for the interesting information about estriol. It is 33 years since my ovaries disappeared from chemotherapy. Except for the short term memory loss that happened right after chemo, I didn't get any of the other menopause symptoms like hot flashes etc. The only time I had those sy...

Re: CR vs. dietary cholesterol vs. dietary fats

What does "calorie restriction" mean for a person of normal weight? Does it mean eating to loose weight to have an even lower BMI or something else?

Re: Cataract surgery result is amazing

@Julie Medicare with my health insurance would cover single vision. I paid the difference for multifocals. I will be tested in a month just like you would have a normal eye test to see if I need glasses. I suspect I will not need them. I can read everything I would have read with glasses previously....

Cataract surgery result is amazing

I had my second cataract surgery for the second eye one month after completing the first. I had been getting cataracts for ten years. My eyes changed very little until this year. I could notice the change from week to week. The idea of surgery on my eyes really creeped me out. It turned out quite ea...

Re: Case histories

In reading the "case histories" I found a number of points in others replies that resonate with me. Like @gilgamesh I am very glad I had the opportunity to learn my APOE status (e4/e4) through 23andme. I didn't think knowing had an adverse effect on me. I asked my significant other if he n...
