Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women

Hi Circular, Thanks for the interesting information about estriol. It is 33 years since my ovaries disappeared from chemotherapy. Except for the short term memory loss that happened right after chemo, I didn't get any of the other menopause symptoms like hot flashes etc. The only time I had those sy...

What does "calorie restriction" mean for a person of normal weight? Does it mean eating to loose weight to have an even lower BMI or something else?

Re: Cataract surgery result is amazing

@Julie Medicare with my health insurance would cover single vision. I paid the difference for multifocals. I will be tested in a month just like you would have a normal eye test to see if I need glasses. I suspect I will not need them. I can read everything I would have read with glasses previously....

Cataract surgery result is amazing

I had my second cataract surgery for the second eye one month after completing the first. I had been getting cataracts for ten years. My eyes changed very little until this year. I could notice the change from week to week. The idea of surgery on my eyes really creeped me out. It turned out quite ea...

Re: Case histories

In reading the "case histories" I found a number of points in others replies that resonate with me. Like @gilgamesh I am very glad I had the opportunity to learn my APOE status (e4/e4) through 23andme. I didn't think knowing had an adverse effect on me. I asked my significant other if he n...

Re: MindCrowd -- spend ten minutes, cure AD!

@Gilgamesh I think it looks very good to me. I think the message comes across well in language people will understand. I think the words "homozygotes" and "heterozygotes" could have something like (one copy of e4) or (2 copies of e4) next to the first occurrence so that people do...

Re: Michael's Intro

@Michael your change in triglycerides and HDL was impressive. I saw that you read "Grain Brain". Are you going wheat free? It was so beneficial for me.

Re: What are you eating day to day?

@Julie I don't remember having my cholesterol taken when I was 50. If it was taken in earlier years I don't believe I was told the numbers. Eliminating wheat is the most effective thing for me diet wise. When I eat wheat all I want is more wheat. I am sure I was a wheat addict. I have read that olde...
