Re: The end of the diet wars?

I wonder how the cyclic ketogenic diet would pan out. It seems to be big in the weight lifting arena. I didn't see any studies on its effectiveness.

Differences between E4/E4, E3/E4, and E2/E4

I understand that the Alzheimer's risk is increased for those with E4/E4 compared to E3/E4 and E2/E4, but what other differentials are there between them? Do E4/E4s have larger changes to their lipid profiles with diet changes? How about cardiovascular risks? I haven't seen much discussion on the E2...

Re: My story... what led me here...

Have you looked at US Wellness meats? They have very tasty organ meat blends and ship them frozen. I used to eat 5-6 oz of braunschweiger or liverwurst at a serving but now it's 2-3 oz. That's my only source of red meat. We'll see if I reorder when my supply runs out.

Re: Reporting Aboard

Thanks! These results and those from January were simple lipid panels. The lab results from February were an advanced panel. I will do another another advanced panel in two or so months.

Re: Reporting Aboard

Hi Julie, Yes, I stopped using bacon fat, stopped coconut oil but then added back one spoonful with my morning cup of espresso, replaced those oils with increased olive oil and avocado oil, cut back from ~20 oz of red meat a day to 3 oz, added in 2 egg yolks/day, added in a bit of chicken, went from...

Re: My story... what led me here...

Hi cdamaden, I've switched out coconut oil and bacon grease for olive oil and avocado oil - replaced the fatty steaks and fried eggs with leafy green salads and have upped my nuts/seeds and avocado consumption too. Protein is more fish and chicken, whereas it used to be rib-eye and pork chops :) Th...
