Re: Statins true MOA revealed in a new study

Ski, if you have a strong family history of strokes (especially in males), I just wanted you to be aware of the possible risk of Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy (CAA), described here. Also, you really might want to consider an EBT scan. CIMT was previously touted as a good proxy for coronary calcium, b...

Re: Statins true MOA revealed in a new study

Hi Ski, do you recall how your plaque was characterized? I found my reports varied from some, minimal to no plaque with unchanged comparative readings. Katie, believe it was mixed. Strokes were prevalent in my family history, so have to be as cautious as I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Statins true MOA revealed in a new study

I've had a lot of inflammation markers checked and none have jumped out as abnormal. CRP was less than 1. Homocysteine was 7 after B vitamin supplementing. I have carotid artery plaque hence the statin but zero abnormal inflammation markers to justify it

Having just finished my first I couldn't imagine doing it that often. Certainly felt better the morning of...

NewRon - That site with the recipes seemed like too much work. My foods are simple...very simple and makes it much easier to plan and just get it done with the same macro's.

I noticed on the list that oats are forbidden and he has a comment (cannot pressure cook). However, I make my steel cut oats in a pressure cooker, so wonder where that falls?

Re: Statins true MOA revealed in a new study

I upped my statin dosage and dropped my Zetia on my cardiologists recommendation due to this very factor. Zetia has no anti-inflammatory effect.
