A Study Where ApoE 4 Is Associated With Longevity
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5468225/ In a world of studies that are disheartening for us 4’s here is a potentially positive one. It shows that ApoE 4’s are proportionally over represented in a group of long lived individuals in Central China when compared to younger and middle aged ...

Re: Thiamin and protein folding
Agreed! Another piece of the puzzle. Alcoholics are highly susceptible to a form of dementia from vitamin B1 deficiency. We can’t help but think that others deficient in B1 are increasing their dementia risk.

Re: Association of Lifestyle and Genetic Risk With Incidence of Dementia
What a great powerful study that is in the beginnings of it’s analysis of morbidity. The low percentage of people who developed Alzheimer’s in the high risk group was promising - less than 2% at a mean age of 72 yrs.. A quote from the “Discussion” part that is promising is from a study in Finland - ...

Re: APOE and the Association of Fatty Acids With the Risk of Stroke, Coronary Heart Disease, and Mortality
http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.325.5973&rep=rep1&type=pdf It appears from this study that yes eating more Palmitic Acid aka (C16:0 saturated fat) increases your plasma level of palmitate acid and possibly your stroke risk and survival time when it is paired with the...

Re: APOE and the Association of Fatty Acids With the Risk of Stroke, Coronary Heart Disease, and Mortality
I stand corrected on Saturated Fats and their consumption in the diet and the effect on serum palmitic acid levels. It looks like the levels are driven by carbs or and or excess carbs. Thanks for clarifying this Brainz and Julie.

Re: APOE and the Association of Fatty Acids With the Risk of Stroke, Coronary Heart Disease, and Mortality
Excess carbohydrates in the body are converted to palmitic acid. Palmitic acid is the first fatty acid produced during fatty acid synthesis Quote above is right out of Wikipedia. Looks like excess carbs are a part of the palmatic acid process. On to the lineolic acid side of the study. I believe es...

Re: APOE and the Association of Fatty Acids With the Risk of Stroke, Coronary Heart Disease, and Mortality
How about Lineolic Acid consumption and plasma levels? I was always under the impression that type of fatty acid consumption determines fatty acid levels in the body. I have also heard that saturated fats are only ok if one is on a low carb diet. What do y’all think? That study is pretty powerful an...

APOE and the Association of Fatty Acids With the Risk of Stroke, Coronary Heart Disease, and Mortality
An extremely important study related to apoe4 and fatty acid profile/consumption. The study looks to be well done and the effect of differences in fatty acid profile/consumption is profound. The pro or neutral saturated fatty acid theory takes a beating on this study. https://www.ahajournals.org/doi...

Re: Peter Attia podcast - Advancing Alzheimers disease treatment
just bought Alzheimers Turning Point on Amazon for $37 plus shipping. can't believe Attia never asked G-L about Bredesen's theory on amyloid and the ReCODE Protocol. one them is wrong, and I would love to see a debate between them. they differ completely on beta-amyloid and probabilities of copies ...
