Re: New here - At which other genes should I look?
One place to start would be in your methylation genes. You can work your way through the list starting here . Personally, the most useful information I've received back from any report was from Strategene . Susan, you did it again. This is the perfect answer for the questions I haven't asked. I'll ...

Re: New here - At which other genes should I look?
So 23andme results came back yesterday with 3/4, which I suspected, due to family history. Kili, I am so there! I am just starting week 2 with my results. Still reading kind of randomly. Thanks for asking the question I haven't gotten around to. Other genes? Which genes? LOL I have a lot to learn. ...

Re: Question on reversing insulin resistance and fasting more...
I am not on diabetes meds at all. Even this last week when I went off my tracks and didn't walk for four days, my average blood glucose readings for the day were 115-135 and I stayed in ketosis daily averages 1.0-2.1. Since I got my ketomojo (March 3) I have not had a reading lower than .7 or highe...

Re: Question on reversing insulin resistance and fasting more...
Hi Drae, I have a lot of experience with fasting and with Dr. Fung's group. I can reassure you that if you have extra body fat (ie, above a normal BMI/body fat percentage) and are not taking meds for diabetes (or critical meds that require food to be absorbed), then fasting is probably the best and...

Thanks, circular and apod. I passed the link on to my son to forward to the women in his gym. And, will send it on to my friends. Good news which probably fits more folks than they observed.

Re: My Promethease: No wonder I am confused
I got the exact same results from 23&me/Promethease... Thanks, Nancy. Your story on this is nice to know. Perhaps time will confirm mine. I think I will accept the fact that I must be 2/4 and move on. Now I will try to make sense of the rest of the Promethease apoe stuff. Poco a poco. I must re...

Drae; Your type 2 diabetes adds an additional complexity to the longer fasts Drae, Don't recall if you are on any diabetic meds. Thank you, thank you, thank you both! I am not on diabetes meds at all. Even this last week when I went off my tracks and didn't walk for four days, my average blood gluc...

Re: In the spirit of switching things up for novelty...
Very cool, apod. I think that hacky sack? thing has to be harder than juggling. Too much for me. I decided years ago I wanted to learn banjo. Then, decided I would have to wait for heaven to get that one. Now I am thinking, why not? My other one is, when I get a piano or keyboard again, to learn to ...

Re: My Promethease: No wonder I am confused
Wow, that's really interesting. My interpretation is that Promethease believes your result is 2/4, but 1/3, which is exceptionally rare, cannot be ruled out entirely. Honestly, I think this is good news since E2 is associated with reduced risk for AD. What did 23andMe say your 4 was paired with? Wa...
