Re: Test Results are In - Just how Bad is Bad?
My lipids have always been terrible, too. But then I just took Stavia's advice and had a coronary calcium scan done. Got the results last week: zero plaque in my arteries. Risk of heart attack, very low. Yet my Boston labs said very high. I opted to avoid the prescribed statins and zetia and instead...

Re: Our Story, E4/E4 for my 4 Year old child
Ok. I see. That must be so difficult. Well, maybe add a few non starchy vegetables scattered throughout the day. Maybe a few raspberries in the yogurt wouldn't hurt, but I'm not the expert. I just know berries have less sugar than most fruit. Almond butter is another fat I eat that I forgot to menti...

Re: Our Story, E4/E4 for my 4 Year old child
One thing to keep in mind always is common sense. The science is wonderful. It's great that we now have all this knowledge to help us make better decisions for our health and genes. But if we rely too much on it to the point where we forget common sense things like eating healthy, wholesome natural ...

Re: Our Story, E4/E4 for my 4 Year old child
For a high calcium and tasty food, I love my version Julie g's recipe of: almonds, walnuts, coconut flakes, raspberries, stevia, and fat free, sugar free greek yogurt. I would think a child would love this, too, it tastes like a dessert.

Re: Our Story, E4/E4 for my 4 Year old child
Is he getting plenty of vegetables, some fruits? I'm not a Dr. I have had lifetime high cholesterol and triglycerides, but got it down following Stavia's primer here, and Julie g's suggestions. Against my Dr's advice, I chose not to go on statins and zetia. I eat high fat but certainly NOT high fat ...

No worries, Stavia! I know you have a very demanding job on top of all this and many names go through your head in a day!

Re: Test results
Thank you! I'm Nancy, Stavia (don't worry...I'm the worst at names, myself!), but yes, very happy with the results! My primary focus can now be on my brain and AD prevention...

Re: Test results
I finally had a coronary calcium scan done and got the results today. I have zero calcification!!! Yay!! Very relieved. In spite a lifetime of very high bad cholesterol, triglycerides, inflammation, etc. I'm not on any statins or anything despite my doctor's recommendation. Glad I chose diet and exe...
