Re: New Antioxidant Can Prevent MI & Stroke
Will be interested in watching for the human trials. Professor David Leake, BHF-funded researcher who led the study at the University of Reading, said: “The potential in this drug to protect against heart attacks and strokes and ultimately save lives superseded our expectations. We hoped it would ca...

Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women
Interesting mouse study, finding that E4/E4 mice did not get improvement in object and spatial memory, or increased neuron dendritic spine density when given estradiol, while they did see improvements in E3/E4 and E3/E3 mice. They surmise it is related to the increased number of alpha estrogen recep...

Have you seen Greyhound's post about soluble amyloid and the comment on lecanemab? Might be the reason why they are seeing success.

Re: Study: Decreased proteins, not amyloid plaques, tied to Alzheimer’s disease
The research found that with a baseline level of soluble amyloid-beta in the brain above 270 picograms per milliliter, people can remain cognitively normal regardless of the amount of amyloid plaques in their brains. This is really interesting research. Could explain most drug failures to date, and...

Re: What are the most important blood tests?
These are all just questions I've pondered about this and other tests Originally, my FL doctor did it to check gut health, neurotransmitters and methylation. OAT looks for metabolites of yeast, C. diff, etc and checks metabolites along the methylation pathway, among other things like toxic exposure...

Re: What are the most important blood tests?
Why didn't I ever think of invoking my family history to get some of the tests I want? A little trick I learned in my masters in management program. If the conversation is going no where, you learn to come at it from a different perspective. ;) It paid off after I had an OAT test and my former doct...

Re: Still looking for hope.
Things like a bad back that can't be fixed with surgery are still with me but there are so many interesting and fun things to do and learn about I don't have time to worry about the things I can't do. Good to see you posting and glad you are still keeping yourself busy! Your advice, about not worry...

You and I are in the same camp. I also keep saturated fat on the low side.Tincup wrote:Hence, while I'm pretty low carb, I keep my fat intake relatively unsaturated and in the mono & poly category.
