Re: https://alzheimer-prevention.com/

The link to Joe Cohen about mTOR was pretty good. Only big mistake was cortisol raises mTOR, not lowers it. Joe had one excellent item. Lowering mTOR with rapamycin can prevent autism if started soon enough. All about too much mTOR prevents pruning nerve twigs in brain. Unfortunately never had any c...

Re: Lifestyle changes lower risk for E4s

There is 10/11/2017 news story about it in "Being Patient" with picture of diet and description, "healthy Nordic diet", "lots of fish, fruits, vegetables an oils", MIta Kivipelto: "We used something that we called "the healthy Nordic diet" which is more l...

Re: statins - different approaches for different phases of life?

There is very clear evidence for E4 carriers to use Zocor to prevent death from coronary disease if elevated lipids.
As regards AD in E4 carriers no good studies as E4 and non E4 lumped together.
Best to rely on fact based evidence

Re: Lectins and their benefits

Hi Everybody. As regards Dr Gundy, some friends recently positively recommended I look at "The Plant Paradox". My quick search of medical/science literature was I found nothing to support Dr. Gundy's claims. So question: Any high quality science papers to support Dr. Gundy's numerous claim...

Re: https://alzheimer-prevention.com/

Hi Brian, Another paper to review is "a Perfect sTORm: Role of mTOR in cerebrovascular dysfunction in AD, Veronica Galvan (one of AD superstars since 2010). You cite a few ways to achieve reduction mTOR. Ketogenic diet reduces mTOR, again don't know how much. Between CR, special diets (low red ...

Re: Belly Fat: Visceral vs Subcutaneous

I think confusion here is that BMI not very useful measurement. BMI consists of muscle which is good. Loss muscle bad sign. Subcutaneous fat is neutral and visceral fat and midline (belly fat) is bad. difference between pear shape (OK) and apple shape (bad). Example is low BMI has increased mortalit...

Hi Tom. Exactly true. if look at interview by PD Mangan in Rougue Health this weekend see that this why did website. Since 2010 accumulation huge body of basic science studies that rapamycin will prevent AD in APOE4 carriers; but no human studies. As Bob Dylan said, "Money doesn't talk, it curs...
