Re: Hydrogen Sulfide SIBO
...Have any of you fixed their hydrogen sulfide SIBO by now, and if so, how? I was wondering if anyone thinks an elemental diet is to be recommended for HS SIBO. From what I have understood an elemental diet will still contain sulfur compounds, which leads me to thinking it would not help. Right no...

Re: Physical activity of ANY intensity supports memory in ApoE 4
My guess is this minimal activity was enough to protect against early vascular damage and early cell death due to lack of fuel, keeping more of the brain and specifically the hippocampus intact for longer and providing more reserve for later. That’s my guess also, Mike, especially given the link of...

Physical activity of ANY intensity supports memory in ApoE 4
Once again, the good people of southern Minnesota (who tend to stay in one place for decades) have contributed to good news about non-exercise activity and the beneficial effect decades later on cognitive testing and progression to MCI and AD, especially for those with ApoE 4 , in this Mayo Clinic S...

Re: Scam Awareness
Off the wall doesn't necessarily mean invalid. Didn't mean to downplay the study. My father was an easy mark and my sister finally had to take his phone away... I did not notice the problem before he had symptoms though, so this was a surprise. I've read enough of your posts to figure it was writte...

Re: Biomarker Information Spreadsheet
Hello, does this biomarker information spreadsheet tracks test results? I've been seeking a spreadsheet which contains several biomarkers that I can record from lab reports into the spreadsheet for analysis. My google search came across this thread and I looked at it. However, I'm not sure if this ...

NIA funds $ 3 million for Botanical Dietary Supplements Research Centers
All is not lost with government funding for botanical research. This grant application is due April 16; I just happened to see a media article about it today. The National Institute on Aging (NIA) and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), both part of the U.S. Nationa...

Re: cognitive disconnect - do you "feel" you are reducing risk?
Here's an odd question... Maybe it's just me. Anyone else come to this odd place in our journey? and solve it? Thanks everyone. This has been bugging me for a while. I am now so much happier, and much more positive about all the lifestyle and risk factors that I actively work on each day. I no long...

Re: New and confused
2 of you mentioned a plaque test? Is that something I need to do if my cholesterol is fine? What causes the plaque build up? Plaque build-up in coronary arteries (and other arteries) happens over a long period of time. Here's a good overview of what "plaque" is from the Centers for Diseas...

Re: Rs7412
Why if I’m a 4/4 would my Rs7412 show no clinical abnormalities? The graph is showing that Rs7412 with C/C alleles by itself doesn't prove you have ApoE 4/4. However, as this quote below shows, it all depends on who its neighbors are: If the allele of this SNP is "C" and the same chromoso...
