Re: An informal survey on Fasting

1. 4/4 2. Attempt 12-16 hours IF most days. Generally have coffee with a lot of fat (coconut oil, MCT, cream) and stevia (no sugar) and then push breakfast as late as possible, while also listening to my body. I have not attempted any longer fasts. 3. Reason: mostly for brain health. 4. Difficulty: ...

Re: 4/4 with Endometrial Cancer

I went through surgical menopause at the age of 50. Although my surgeon prescribed 1 mg estradiol, beginning a couple days following my surgery, I had a rough time. I can’t recall when the crying began, but I do recall crying uncontrollably for no reason during at least the first couple weeks. I sus...

Re: For those who have children.

I'm glad that I did not know my ApoE status (4/4) before having children a couple decades ago, or I might have avoided passing my genes on. When I got my results, almost two years ago, I was horrified to learn at that same moment that my children must carry at least one copy. I felt so guilty! But a...

Re: Parents took 23andMe test, one with 4/4

I don't want to tell him, but at the same time I want him to change his lifestyle to help reduce some of the risk factors. I've tried to get him to take better care of himself for a long time now with no avail. I feel like he would change if he knew this, but I don't want to terrify him with this i...

Re: Re:

[Hi Anna, My doctor did not mention anything about urine pH to me pre-test. Also, though I might have overlooked it, I don’t recall any mention of pH in the Doctor’s Data info that accompanies the test, so this is a new twist. If you can find out the rationale behind your doctor’s requirement of hi...

Re: Re:

Suddenly this evening I'm warming up to metals testing. I'm working on determining whether I have ADD and apparently ruling out lead is one of the steps. I guess maybe if my amalgam mercury levels are high I won't feel so bad about having the dental work; whereas if I don't see a high reading (any ...

Re:

I think the mercury tri-test is great if you are trying to determine what your source of elevated mercury is.... ie , is it coming from fish or from fillings For me, mercury is not the big issue, while lead and cadmium are both very high. This leads me to believe that the tri-test could be delayed ...

Re: Heavy Metals testing

Hi Anna, could you clarify whether you mean not doing challenge testing instead of Quicksilver or instead of no testing at all, which might lead to not treating metal overload at all? In other words, is their something challenge testing does right that is informative in a way that Quicksilver isn’t...

Re: Heavy Metals testing

I take 500 mg of DMSA 3X/day for 3 days, then take 11 days off. Will repeat this cycle for 25 cycles. I do not notice feeling any different on the days I take DMSA. Nor do I notice any difference in how I feel now that I am, at least hypothetically, getting rid of metals. (Have finished 8 rounds). ...
