Re: Dale Bredesen talk in Carlisle, PA (April 25)
Just bumping this post as a reminder. The free public lecture is on Wednesday. AKA - there is a book signing after the talk. I suspect that will go until 9:00 PM. I'll be there. To be honest, I haven't completely figured out how all my roles mesh on this one. Kinda complicated for me. I might stand...

Re: Age 36 and terrified of being 4x4
Hi Priya. You're feelings are totally normal. Over time the shock wears off some. I couldn't say anything better than NF52 did. In fact I'm going to bookmark this thread so I can re-read what she wrote from time to time. Keep in mind that those risks describe past populations - including those with ...

Re: My first "prevention" cognoscpoy results from an E4/4
Not sure, but I think @slacker meant to say:
"Briefly, your homocysteine is too high, under 6 is recommended. Correcting this is probably your most important next step."
...or did I guess wrongly?
Most of these numbers are pretty good. I'd trade.

AIr Pollution and E4s - not a good mix (more evidence)
This was in the news, so I tracked it down. More evidence that PM2.5 pollution and E4s don't mix well. Another reason to work towards cleaner air. Maybe we should be cooperating with local clean air boards or other efforts to lower PM2.5 pollution. It seems to be a real, and significant risk to E4s...

Re: First bit of bloodwork — any advice appreciated
Hi Alex. Just my thoughts here. I see the common pattern of LDL and non-HDL lipid particles that are a bit high. But by itself it doesn't tell you too much. It would help to know something about blood sugar/insulin and inflammation, for starters. And put this in context with your health history. Alo...

Re: Erasing the damage caused by apoE4 in human genes? New study by Gladstone Institutes
Great discussion. I find the gene editting of cells in cimtire to be, well, pretty amazing. But I think in the end the cell cultures are just a screening tool. Previous papers describe how they screned 20,000 potential drugs by computer modeling and tested the top 60 in the lab. PH002 was the best. ...

Re: Erasing the damage caused by apoE4 in human genes? New study by Gladstone Institutes
Thanks circular. I was just reading their webpage. It's so hard to keep up with all the studies. Perhaps some forum members have cell lines like those used in this study. That would be a real contribution. This article is really impressive - the amount of time and effort to put together something li...
