Re: Support Team

Welcome, CarrieS! We're delighted to have you and all of our FMCA interns. I had no idea you were a Certified Fermentationist. I really want to learn how to make kefir, both dairy (with A2 milk) and coconut milk. I'd love any tips you can share. Hi Julie, I apologize for not responding. Dairy Kefir...

Re: Disturbed sleep & AD

Hello, I am an intern with FMCA also. In Dr. Jill Carnahan's discussion on Adrenals and Thyroid, she mentioned the following: "Typically in the evening time then you want to lower cortisol. If the patient's having trouble sleeping, I especially do this for patients who are maybe on a low carb d...

Re: Question about the inflammatory effect of dairy

Mmmmm . . . I think I'll have to make the Macadamia Nut cheeze soon! I've made Macadamia Nut Milk but not the cheeze. Sounds great! I've been fermenting Water Kefir for years and use it to make coconut yogurt and as a fermentation catalyst for all kinds of ferments but have never thought about a fer...

I use it in my morning coffee (bulletproof style), add it in salad dressings, cook with it, etc. It'...

Re: Diet help. Please post what is working for you!

I tend to use a couple of cups of mixed organic baby greens as a base and then add a combination of veggies such as Persian cucumber, (red, yellow or orange) bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, red onion, homemade sauerkraut, carrot, spinach, raw or fermented beets, radish, shitake mushrooms, micro sprout...

My functional medicine provider also recommended eating 1/2 cup wild blueberries, drinking organic pomegranate juice daily, turning my WiFi off at night and daily exercise.

Re: Finding your APOE4 doctor?

I started with an IFM doctor a couple of weeks ago. He cued right in on diet and lifestyle suggestions after learning about my family history. I agree with the suggestion of finding a functional medicine provider near you.
