Re: Home Testing Cholesterol
Well depends on which Cardiochek you are referring to. I would imagine cost comes into play as it certainly did for me because I could find the Cholestech cheaper than the expensive Cardiochek. The cheaper CardioChek versions did not get good reviews on accuracy. This study done on the more expensiv...

Re: Home Testing Cholesterol
Ski, I see a bunch of Cholestechs on ebay for $100. Do you need a printer, or can you just read the numbers off the screen? No, you simply read off the screen. Be sure to buy one of the later models. You can tell the older versions by the emblem on the machine. The older versions have a big LDX on ...

Re: Home Testing Cholesterol
I have the Cholestech LDX machine that all health screening companies use. Retail they run over $1000 but I picked it up brand new on eBay for $100. I have done comparisons against an NMR on more than 1 occasion and it is not as accurate but pretty darn close. You can pick up the cassettes for aroun...

I'm pretty sure physiological insulin resistance. Thanks Tin!....yeah I figured it had to be something as those are numbers Ive never seen and given that it was really a small portion of carbs AND 3 hours post ingestion, I was floored. Re: Experiences with FMD/multi-day fasts
Just completed my 2nd round. This time only consumed between 150-200 calories per day vs the 500-600 my first fast. Calories came from a handful of nuts and coffee/teas. Main difference this time around was a significant drop in fasting blood glucose. So may have been either the calorie amount or th...

Re: Heavy Metals testing
No they do not, so theres unfortunately no way to tell. But my dentist did say that more than likely they would have amalgam underneath them if they were older.Julie G wrote:Ski, that's terrifying. I wonder if X-rays reveal the presence of mercury amalgams under crowns?

Re: Heavy Metals testing
As Sandy mentioned, it could absolutely pull mercury out from your amalgams. Also be sure to remember crowns. Every single one of my crowns had amalgam underneath them.

Any chelating agent, especially DMSA, should not be taken until all amalgam fillings have been removed.AKA wrote:Last piece of the plan is to remove two remaining amalgam fillings. Sheeeesh! Turns out I'm a bit of a metal hoarder
