Re: Why Krill Oil Beats Fish Oil
I recently started looking into krill oil and discovered that most formulations contain sorbitol. Sorbitol might not be as safe as once thought. Anyone have a recommendation of krill oil without sorbitol? Thanks, Brian As far as I can tell, Kirkland Signature Krill Oil does not contain sorbitol.

Re: High energy expenditure and APOE 4
My problem with weight is the opposite. I am 5'6" and have weighed around 123 pounds since college (I'm 59). I lost 5 pounds during a bout of food poisoning while traveling in February, dropping me down to 118. I didn't really think it was a big deal, assuming the weight would return to my set...

Re: Fasting and insulin resistance
Hi Jan18, Valter Longo talks about this phenomenon. Are you fasting in the mornings? He recommends that you eat breakfast and fast in the evenings instead. Or, skip lunch. The good thing is that your lab result will return to normal when you begin eating breakfast, according to Longo. Hi Plumster, ...

Re: Fasting and insulin resistance
I just had labs done with Mark Hyman's Function Health program. I've gotten some of the results back at Quest, but I'm still awaiting the official report, which will take a few more weeks. I was shocked to find my insulin at 15 when I regularly fast a minimum of 16 hours and some days up to 22. I a...

Re: I am very confused on the proper diet to follow due to conflicting info

Re: I am very confused on the proper diet to follow due to conflicting info
On one hand I read to follow the Mediterranean diet. But then the Bredesen protocol says to stay away from the staples of the Mediterranean diet like beans and grains. I am so frustrated at this point. Also, is there a test to determine which foods are causing inflammation? Thank you all so much fo...

Re: Calcium
I am having the hardest time of getting the standard 1200 mg of calcium recommended for those of us over 60 years old on 1300 calories (for weight loss) without supplements (cardiologist advises against supplements) and without dairy!!!! And I am in osteoporosis now, so I'm really in need of a solu...

Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women
I have read the posts that include DHEA here, but am still unsure how to handle my DHEA levels. It is currently 213. My functional ob/gyn doctor says it's too high. She wants it in the 100s. I read that low DHEA has been found with AD patients, and I know that Bredesen's book has DHEA even higher th...

Re: Whole Foods Plant Based Diet for Prevention
Hello all. Not sure if this is the right topic to ask this question - but are there any topics or threads that contain people’s meal logs while on the Bredesen / whole food plant based diets? I’m looking for some inspiration so would not mind exploring a few examples of a realistic long term meal p...

Re: Experiences with a low saturated fat diet?
Some background: After much thought, I've decided to run with a low fat, gluten free, no processed sugar, whole grain, low histamine "vaguely Mediterranean" style diet. My lipids and cholesterol run low, and were only elevated during my one ill-fated experiment with traditional keto, but ...
