Re: Very New Member

... I get pieces of info but nothing that ever connects the dots and confirms my status. ...Very frustrated. Welcome, Royce! No need to apologize for valid frustration; it probably feels like you've been hitting your head against a wall in an effort to find out if the brain inside your head is stil...

Re: Lipo a

How were those measured? 205-75 is a big difference.... I read it can be nmol/L OR something else ...on my lab 75 or less is normal if measured nmol/L Can't speak for Katie S, but my report was by LabCorp, so the 178 definitely put me in BrianR's "overachiever club". LabCorp's website sta...

Re: Lipo a

NF52, have you always had high lipo a since it seems to be a determined factor already? I have been reading on CoQ10...... it seems like it could reduce it...... I’ve only had the one test, but it seems we’re born with a stable number. Your grandpa gave you at most 25% of his genes. My son’s grandf...

Re: Lipo a

Does anyone have high lipo a? I just found out I do and it’s genetic!! It’s a huge factor in heart disease and stroke. Apoe4/4 and now this:( Yep, I'm an Lp(a) overachiever. This twitter thread from Lp(a) expert Sam Tsimikas on Niacin and Lp(a) may be of interest: https://twitter.com/Lpa_Doc/status...

Meal & Memory Study in Seattle seeking Apoe 4's

"rainy" who lives in not-always-rainy Seattle, asked that I share this short-term study participation offer from the University of Washington. She herself participated in the study and found it worthwhile. The University of Washington is currently enrolling people for a study testing how t...

Re: Hydrogen Sulfide SIBO

...Have any of you fixed their hydrogen sulfide SIBO by now, and if so, how? I was wondering if anyone thinks an elemental diet is to be recommended for HS SIBO. From what I have understood an elemental diet will still contain sulfur compounds, which leads me to thinking it would not help. Right no...

Re: Physical activity of ANY intensity supports memory in ApoE 4

My guess is this minimal activity was enough to protect against early vascular damage and early cell death due to lack of fuel, keeping more of the brain and specifically the hippocampus intact for longer and providing more reserve for later. That’s my guess also, Mike, especially given the link of...

Physical activity of ANY intensity supports memory in ApoE 4

Once again, the good people of southern Minnesota (who tend to stay in one place for decades) have contributed to good news about non-exercise activity and the beneficial effect decades later on cognitive testing and progression to MCI and AD, especially for those with ApoE 4 , in this Mayo Clinic S...

Re: Scam Awareness

Off the wall doesn't necessarily mean invalid. Didn't mean to downplay the study. My father was an easy mark and my sister finally had to take his phone away... I did not notice the problem before he had symptoms though, so this was a surprise. I've read enough of your posts to figure it was writte...
