Re: COVID-19 Recommendations from U of AZ
There are suggestions on supplements that may help with prevention. However, some of these supplements have the potential to make things worse if one is infected. Thank you, slacker, for the document you shared. Very interesting and helpful! I have a question about vitamin C. Do you know if calcium...

Hormone Replacement Therapy Part k2
Just wanted to create a new post as the old one is gargantuan. I am struggling trying to keep my hormones at Bredesen's levels. I have no problem increasing the dosages except that Progesterone increases my blood sugar. I started to take Testosterone and my pp blood sugars increased substantially. M...

Re: Overwhelmed!!
Hi everyone! I need some guidance with cholesterol levels. I ended up with an awful genetic jackpot. I’m Apoe 4/4, LDLR rs41291058 Hetero CT, ApoB rs6413458 Hetero AG, AND PCKS9 rs662799 Hetero AG. The last 3 are genes that code for familial hypercholesterolemia. I’d say it is extremely rare to hav...

Re: apoe4 children have lower IQ`s ?
I grew up poor in an environment of abuse (physical, emotional) to my brothers, and (emotional ) to me from one parent, but with the love, concern and affection of the other. Went to a school of well-to-do children with sufficient nutrition and no worries that allowed these children to do well. I li...

Re: 4/4 and diabetes
If you have another done, with your life style, I bet it will be good. It would give you peace of mind. If not, that is also knowledge, and you use it to figure out what to do next. And yes, I turn 60 next month. Hi Mike: Yes, you are right, I'm seriously considering it. And as you say, it might be...

Re: 4/4 and diabetes
[quote="mike"]IMHO your A1c is fine at that level, since your IR is okay. Especially since you are doing low carb and your blood levels do not vary much during the day - meaning your glucose spikes are low and any damage caused by high glucose is less. In comparison, my fasting blood sugar...

Re: 4/4 and diabetes
The no-carb stew plus some macadamia nuts later actually seemed to settle my stomach. My blood sugars back up to 115 this morning though ketones still over 5. Weight up to 201. It is thought that stem cells get activated after fasts, so gaining some weight back at this point should be a good thing,...

Re: 4/4 and diabetes
Day 20. My wife is making beef stew; I'm planning to end the fast this evening. I was barely down below 200 lbs this morning. I would ultimately like to get down to around 185 and maintain at that level. My blood sugars are finally down to 90 and my GKI is below 1 for the first time. Hi Mike: You a...
