Son with mono
This is off topic but you all are the smartest health “mavens” i know as a group. My 19 year Old son has mono. I read a few alternative medicine posts (unsure of reliability) contending coconut oil can help with the virus as its an anti-viral. People claim it shortened the time their kids’ suffered ...

Re: How to live to 100 with Dr. Valter Longo (Kevin Rose Podcast)
Regarding his comment about confusing the Brain with ketosis, I understood Dr Longo to be referring to taking exogenous ketones while eating carbohydrates.

Been Offline—life crises and slacking
Hello everyone I haven’t been keeping up with this site or working too hard on my brain health. Fortunately I am healthy but I’m concerned I’ve messed up all the hard work I’ve done over the past couple of years improving my cognition. I’ve had to deal with two serious crises this past year and one ...

Dr Bredesen trained physician in DC area?
Hi Julie and all
I have a friend whose 78 yo dad is in good physical shape but his cognition is going downhill quickly. I told her about Dr Breseden's protocol and she is interested. Are there any docs in the DC area trained by dr Bredesen or anyone else recommended for an otherwise healthy man?

Best article for general health
All This is a little off topic, but my 22 yr old son asked me last night if I could send him one article that would give him the best information to improve his health. He's relatively healthy but went to China for 3 months and started eating junk and stoppped exercising. He's fairly well informed b...

Re: Zero CAC score = best predictor of No CVD
Thanks Katie I asked his doc to check A1C but she didn't. I suspect it's high. His only fat is a bit of a wide belly. Sigh... I'll ask again next time he gets a blood test. He has no known family history of heart disease. My dad died during his first heart attack at 37. That's the reason I initially...
