New Viome offering
I've had my eye on the Viome test for a while -- they seem to have a unique approach for producing actionable insights, beyond the typical gut health / microbe panel. This afternoon, I received an email about a new offering, they're calling the "Health Intelligence Service" Screen Shot 202...

Re: Plasmalogens- exciting new evidence
Hi everyone, Excellent questions. The metabolic precursor to the blood and membrane plasmalogens (the vinyl ether phospholipid form) is the 1-O-alkyl, 2-acyl glycerol (free hydroxy at sn-3). Detailed structure activity of modulating specific plasmalogen species using specific alkyl-acyl glycerols i...

Re: Plasmalogens- exciting new evidence
Another curious window shopper here as well. If I'm reading this right, the supplement would also provide .6g of omega-3 (phospholipid bound?) The E4 allele seems to have a much better time taking up DHA from phospholipids than TG/EE forms. This could be a very nice combo just for that bioavailable ...

Re: Epigenetic tracking with Elysium Index
You don’t need to wait until January this test already exists by a company that David Sinclair invested in called Inner age https://www.insidetracker.com/innerage/ This new test directly measures epigenetic biomarkers (like the ones Sinclair references in his latest book) looking at DNA methylation...

Re: Tracking HRV
I track my HRV regularly using the Oura ring too. I'd love to find some correlations for improving that number. Lately, I've been on a bit of a downtrend, not prioritizing sleep. Another metric I like is PWV. I used to get this off my Withings Scale (Body Cardio), but they removed the feature after ...

Epigenetic tracking with Elysium Index
This new test from Elysium looks pretty cool: https://www.elysiumhealth.com/en-us/index "How fast have you been aging? We all age at different cumulative rates. Start tracking yours with Index in January 2020." "Index is powered by the Elysium chip, developed with the help of a global...

Re: Thiamin and protein folding
I've gone back and forth on B1 supplementation myself. I've read that polyphenols lower B1 and low-carb diets tend to be lower in B1. So, I think it makes a lot of sense on paper. What are the thoughts on TKL1 activation and potential cancer risk?

Re: Two month N=1 experiment plus questions: 250 mg NMN + 50 mg pterostilbene
Very interesting data. I've been hesitant to try pterostilbene as I've read that it has a negative effect on lipids / LDL. It doesn't look like this was the case in your experiment.

Re: New Book about Fasting, Exercising, reprogramming cells
I've got my Audible credit at the ready! Now, when do we get to read Peter Attia's thoughts on similar matters?
