Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

Lots of great discussion, guys! With regard to HDLc, here's a chart of my numbers from 11/24/15 to 8/1/16... Pearson correlation of 0.642440668 During this period I was intentionally trying not to get too much exercise in order to control it as a confounding variable. The data points past that poin...

Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

Fascinating. So your discordancy used to be in the "wrong" direction and is now switched to a more healthful place per MESA data. Kudos! And, your LDL-P drops with dietary fat? That definitely correlates with (a part of) Dave's experimentation. I suspect that you've poured through his dat...

Here's another shocker from my data

I’m fascinated with your experimentation and correlations. In case you are as much of a geek about this stuff as I am, here's today's revelation which kinda blew me away. Dave's stuff has really rocked my world. Of course you know that conventional wisdom is all about raising your HDLc with exercis...

Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

Dan, I respect your journey and appreciate your sharing. We’ve seen a handful of other members who also began to show signs of insulin resistant on a LC diet, but that’s far from the norm. I’d be hesitant to extrapolate your experience to everyone. I’m repeatedly humbled at the vastly different res...

Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

(1) Highly doubtful -- just about everyone who goes on Keto lowers their FBS given it's very low insulinemic. Sadly, in my experience, the move towards more fat has driven my IR markers higher. In going from 3-day ave net carbs of 151g / day to 86g per day over a period of 6 months, my NMR generate...

Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

... I really do hope you consider doing a series of tests for a week as I've done before to see whether your data does indeed change or not. Likewise, I'd want to encourage you to *only* take NMRs from now on as the general lipid profile is problematic for accuracy (all of which I know you are alre...

Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

... Dan, how have you come to the conclusion that keto-adaptation automatically leads to IR? By what measure? I've been mildly keto-adapted for years. My BMI is 18.5, fasting insulin is 2 and A1c is 4.7. Would you still label me as IR? This is not my idea; the first mention of it might be Peter at ...

Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

Dave, I just had another idea. What if the short term response to fat is opposite to the long term response acheived after the body has had a chance to fully up- and down-regulate all systems - including DNA expression choices - and come back into homeostasis?

Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

Summary: For LDL-P, my data strongly supports 3 of DaveKeto's conclusions, 1) it responds to dietary changes very quickly, 2) it does so in the opposite direction from that which is claimed by the "conventional wisdom", and 3) it correlates best with total fat - not SFA. However, my data ...

Re: Hello! I have some burning questions for the ApoE4ers...

... With so many variables; it's hard to make consistent correlations. I want to say more about this. After I noticed in my previous reply to you that the correlation got stronger if I removed the point with only 3 days, I thought, why not just calc them all for 30 days, regardless of the time sinc...
