Dementia and Anti Cholinergic Drugs

I just read this newly published article regarding the strong relationship between some anti-cholinergics drugs and dementia: https://www.bmj.com/content/361/bmj.k1315 What I found most interesting is my mother who had a long and horrible course with Alzheimer's disease also had a long history of ta...

Re: Keto diet and dry mouth

I recommend Dr Lin " The Dental Diet" https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=dr%20steven%20lin That is his FB page. I agree with some, but not all, of his thoughts and he is in alignment with Dr Bresdesen and Dr Gundry for the most part, although he isn't about Apoe4 at all. I am so impres...

Re: Keto diet and dry mouth

If there is no sugar ( any carb, not just processed sugar) in it, I do not believe it would be a problem. If there is alcohol in it, as in many flavorings, it could be a problem. I do not know this particular product.

Re: Early detection and possible approach to preventative treatment

From Promethease: there is an snp that apparently influences the cancer risk decreasing effect of baby aspirin on colorectal cancer. Since I also have colorectal cancer in my family history, I started taking 81mg of aspirin a day. After 6 months, I have developed serious tinnitus, which is making me...

Re: Questions?!

I have terrible nightly foot cramps from low carb diet. Magnesium helps but does not eliminate them completely. Even had my magnesium levels tested to be sure I was not deficient. As I am adding other suplements/ electolyte containing waters it is getting better, but still having some troubles. I pr...

Re: My Promethease: No wonder I am confused

I also have that result from Promesthease and have been confused, but given my family history with AD I knew I had to have APOE4. My question about the APOE2 copy is does it really provide any real protection or is the APOE4 truly dominant/semi dominant? Studies tend to lump 4/2, 4/3, and 4/4 ( not ...

Re: Gathering Recipes—I need your help!

Slacker, the tomato hack was not as easy as I thought..... but it did work some. I will work on it. I am not convinced of the lectin thing so far , but I also know that I am a beginner and maybe having some wishful thinking in terms of food. I have given up zucchini which is not a big deal. Good new...

Re: Gathering Recipes—I need your help!

Circular, thanks for the leek tip for soup. I do not like coconut in any form. I think I need to acquire a taste for it given everything that I have learned. I do fry up cauliflower rice with some veggies , seseme oil, lots of garlic, ginger and a little bit of rice wine (shaoxing). It is reasonable...

Re: Gathering Recipes—I need your help!

Thank you , Slacker! I ate a piece of sourdough bread yesterday and it tasted like the Elixir of the Gods! Lectin Free Mama had a hack for getting the seeds out of canned peeled (organic) tomatoes using a salad spinner. I am going to do that, put them in the instant pot and try for some spagetti (le...

Re: Gathering Recipes—I need your help!

Thanks, Ru442. I hope to contribute recipes as soon as I feel confident in what I am doing. I am so new, but I do cook a lot and love recipes. I can get along just fine without most of the lectin foods, except green beans and tomatoes- but at least for the tomatoes I know to peel and seed them and t...
