Re: Soft Launch of Our Metabolomic Project

Hi All, Got this in an email and am sharing. I have another commitment & contacted them. They told me they will record this webinar and send out an email to those who have registered with a link. Dr. Dayan Goodenowe is hosting a LIVE webinar titled "Unlocking the Power of Plasmalogens” whic...

Re: Announcing a Personalized Precision Medicine Clinical Trial to Reverse Dementia

Where can I get testing done privately? I just learned of this company and added it to the Wiki. If they have the tests you want, may be a very low cost option. Marek Diagnostics Uses Labcorp labs. Select Lab Builder option for lowest cost DIY. They chart $5 for blood draw. Looks to be very low cos...

Re: Announcing a Personalized Precision Medicine Clinical Trial to Reverse Dementia

Where can I find more info about recode and who can provide that program and if it’s worth it as it seems very expensive. As well as what is best to eat and supplements to take. I'm sure others here can tell you about ReCode. Have you read Dr. Bredesen's books: "The End of Alzheimer's: The Fir...

Re: Announcing a Personalized Precision Medicine Clinical Trial to Reverse Dementia

Where can I get testing done privately? For blood tests, there is a list of companies where you can order labs from Quest and Labcorp. New Century is usually the cheapest, but not always. They only work with Quest. There are a couple of states that don't allow you order through these companies. I d...

Re: Announcing a Personalized Precision Medicine Clinical Trial to Reverse Dementia

Do you participate in recode. We do not. Having put one chronic illness (afib) mostly into remission (my time in afib in the first 4 months was 57%, 19 years ago, currently 0.03% with scant help from docs, it is my MO to do the research & figure it out myself. My mom passed with dementia, I'm a...

Re: Announcing a Personalized Precision Medicine Clinical Trial to Reverse Dementia

My understanding is if anyone documents this then long term care insurance is no longer an option, which makes it very difficult to be proactive in prevention. So when involved in a trial do they share this information disqualifying a person from future long term care insurance? I don't know about ...

Re: Low Fasting Insulin and Risk of AD

Bredesen recommends fasting insulin of 3-5 uIU/mL. If one has a fasting insulin of 5 or lower and normal fasting glucose would you also want to do a glucose tolerance test that measures insulin to make sure your body continues to produce enough insulin to enable glucose uptake in the brain? Otherwi...

Re: Gauging Interest in a Trial with Valter Longo, PhD

In Range 34-245 When I had an IGF-1 reading of 64, it was on day 7 of a 7 day water fast (and as I've posted, my normal level is around 120, so not excessively high). I personally would not expect muscle growth on day 7 of a water fast. There is some increase in growth hormone associated with exten...

Re: Gauging Interest in a Trial with Valter Longo, PhD

From memory, when I looked at some of Longo's FMD studies years ago, his subjects had a beginning Igf-1 of ~195 and were ~150 after. Just following Gundry's normal plan, my Igf-1 is ~120 and my 4/4 wife's is ~80 (from memory),. So we do a lot better on an ongoing basis than Longo's participants do ...

Re: Red meat intake, 62% higher risk of type 2 diabetes

Why is high fat/high carbs a bad combination? I'm thinking of all the people in Italy who eat pasta and lots of olive oil. It probably depends on what "high" is (and I do not claim any expertise in this area, just reading and personal experience). In addition to the fact that fat can caus...
