Re: Zero carb diet will help prevent Alzheimer’s

Long-term studies of human carnivores?
Only about most of human history.

Killing animals and eating them has been the central focus of our diet since time began.

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone

This looks like it does not take sex and height / lean body mass into account at all - it seems to basically says eat more protein to lose weight and more carbs and fat to gain weight. Starting from your sex and height, you can approximate lean body mass, which is the amount of your body that you n...

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone

For example:

A 12oz ribeye is 60g fat and 66g protein.

That’s equivalent to 540 fat calories and 264 protein calories.

Or, 67% fat and 33% protein.

I don’t care what it does to my cholesterol since insulin will be extremely low.

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone

I try to follow Ted Naiman’s approach. Eat protein grams == to your desired weight (135 for me). If you need to lose (I do), eat fat grams at something less than that (ie, 120g). I prefer to eat a fairy carnivore style diet, but my wife ensures I eat some vegetables. Check out http://www.ptoer.com/

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone

There is a lot of conventional wisdom that is wrong. I frequent ketogenic forum dot com and this site (somewhat less). I see problems on both. At least, in my opinion they are problems. On ketogenic forum, they gorge on fat and avoid protein. On this forum, they fear saturated fat, and promote a mor...

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone

She did change to taking it in the morning the last few days before calling her doctor. t worked much better for her in the morning. Her doctor, though, said something about it working best in the morning for people with MS, not thyroid disorders, and just recommended my wife quit taking it. I don't...

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone

My wife did not respond well to it at all. She would lay in bed and her arms and legs would just twitch and move. She was unable to get any sleep. The doctor recommended she stop taking it after a week, and she feels much better now. She has hashimotos. The doctor thinks that she can get her numbers...
