Re: Melatonin supplementation benefits Alzheimer's disease patients
Thanks GenePoole0304! I haven't found the study to see if they mention apoe variants, but I think LifeExtension would have indicated it if they did? I found this 2006 abstract suggesting, as usual, earlier, pre-clinical, intervention may be better, and while we focus on canceling out evening blue li...

Re: From Dr. Rammohan "Ram" Rao
I've incorporated into my morning meditation the pose I see Muslims take in their daily prayer practice. I need to adde it through the day, even if I'm not taking special time out for meditation.Due to weak connective tissue I can no longer do yoga inversions, and I can't sit back on my heels, but t...

Re: New Technology Toothpaste that Greatly Reduces Plaque
The fella from the company explained to me that the browning is just due to certain proteins that some people have more of in their mouth than others. He indicated it's not anything to worry about. I'll be asking my dentist about this to confirm. I know from past reading that it's only some ingredie...

Re: Exercise+Sleep Tracking Gadgets
Thanks Stavia, I'd never heard of Pebble. I mostly need it for heart rate monitoring and maybe steps taken with exercise. Knowing that some such devices track something or other with sleep I thought I'd ask about it. I definitely wouldn't think they're a replacement for an EEG, but that is probably ...

Exercise+Sleep Tracking Gadgets
Has anyone researched these lately (ie fairly current models)? Any conclusions? Selections! FitBit, Jawbone, Garmin ... I know there are a lot of variables so this is a wide open question. I guess priorities for me would be tracking heart rate, good and useful feedback on sleep quality, and overall ...

Re: The Importance of Meditation
What a cool app Kim! I'm hooked and haven't even registered! I use Pandora a lot and find the minimal cost of subscribing highly worthwhile. I have it on my iPhone home screen and have several different meditation stations set up. No commercials. I start my day with Tibetan singing bowls as I do my ...
