HDL, Singulex, Berkeley Labs qui tam case settlement re kickbacks
When I Googled Dr. Gundry's labs, I found this. The government’s case centers on kickback payments – which the defendants called process and handling fees – paid to physicians by HDL, California lab company Singulex and Berkeley Heartlab to encourage them to use those labs’ services.

Robin2038: my Muses protocol calls for taking 4 Tablespoons of Coconut oil a day My jar of organic, unrefined, cold-pressed, extra virgin coconut oil (Costco) has 14 g/Tb, so 4 Tb = 56 g. The Cucanne paper cited multiple studies showing serum rates for doses between 10g/day and 70g/day, so 4 Tb/day ...

Juliegee asked A ketone is a ketone regardless of how it's created, right? . This is my understanding after reading Cunnane's paper. Please feel free to correct me: The brain uses ketone bodies B-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) and acetoacetate (AcAc) as a secondary fuel in the absence of glucose. All other p...

Juliegee, Thanks to LG1, I discovered Dr. Rhonda Patrick, post-doc w Dr. Bruce Ames, a pioneer in nutritional support of mitochondria and telomere preservation. LanceS nailed it: Financially I have thought that a diabetes cost angle with a strong educational campaign might make health more of a national issue. Kinda like how cigarettes were probably curbed down by kids making their parents quit... getting the kids to get the message out on diabesity/alzheim...

Re: beverages. This is the most boring aspect of the keto diet for me. I get tired of water and herbal teas. I stumbled on this yesterday: unsweetened coconut milk with 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder. The cinnamon and ginger are good anti-inflammatories and pick up...

Re: 2015 Interview w Joseph Kraft, father of insulin array
Kraft did 14,384 assays from 1972 to 1998, at St Joseph's Hospital in Chicago. He was dept chair and replaced the standard GTT with his GTIR assay, at least in these 14,384 patients. His book is The Diabetes Epidemic & You (2008). The writing style is bit dated and definitely preachy, but it's f...

Oh, almost forgot. Beverages are tricky. No milk (one cup has about half of the daily carb ration). That leaves water. And unsweetened teas and herbal infusions like rosehip, peppermint, chamomile. I usually just go with water.
