Re: Should mercury fillings in teeth be removed?

Our Primer and Dr Bredesen recommend working on the things that need the most attention first. In our Wiki on Dr Bredesen there is a summary of the tests Dr Bredesen recommends, https://wiki.apoe4.info/wiki/Bredesen_Protocol mercury is one of the toxins he talks about getting tested. Are you having ...

Re: Best Ketone Meter: blood, breath or urine

Our wiki discusses the three ways to measure ketones: urine, blood and breath. https://www.apoe4.info/wiki/Ketosis_and_Ketogenic_Diet Each have advantages and disadvantages. Not able to draw blood easily? Do you shake your fingers to get blood down to the fingertips before using the lancet to prick ...

Re: Feedback on Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids testing

Remind me: How do you test your Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio? Dr Gundry pulls my tests, this is what mine looks like from True Health: Omega-3.JPG You can see my RBC EPA+DHA Omega-3 Index is 10.3, just barely over what Dr Gundry recommends for ApoE4s. My Omega-3 total is 15%. My Omega-6 total is 23.6%....

Re: Feedback on Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids testing

I read somewhere (don’t ask me where right now, I need more Omega-3) that early man’s Omega-6 to 3 ratio was 1:1. Certainly the closer you can get to that, the better, although difficult in today’s environment. I think your ratio is pretty good. HOWEVER, I’m not sure I like your Omega-3 index. Is th...

Re: Electroshock and 3/4

I know a 70 year old female ApoE4 carrier who has been recommended for Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT), aka Electro Shock. I found this thread and found the advice reassuring that it’s important to pursue therapies that offer promise even if there are risks. This thread is pretty old, any recent or...

Re: Who do you think is researching or promoting the most important work in preventive medicine

I personally watch the work of Chris Masterjohn and Ben Lynch. While neither is an AD researcher, they both carry E4s and focus on strategies for achieving your best health Good point Susan! I'd add Rhonda Patrick to that list, she also is an E4 carrier and often explores areas applicable to us. Da...

Re: Understanding Test Results

I will continue with the Fast Mimicking plan laid out in Valter Longo's book and hope that that ultimately brings my A1c down from 7 to 6. It is not easy to fast that often, but I'm getting more comfortable with it. If your HbA1c is 6 or 7 you should be concerned. In his book The End of Alzheimer’s...

Re: Understanding Test Results

Fearful of Alzheimer's, I did the 23&me Health tests. I have no copies of APOE4. I do however have some moderate Insulin Resistance, so I'm still unsure of my risks. What I would like to assess is with no copies of APOE4, what is my risk level for still developing any Dimentia? What is your ris...

Re: Who do you think is researching or promoting the most important work in preventive medicine

Just curious if there's any one person people think is really leading the charge in understanding how to prevent chronic illness with apoe 4/4 ? From my personal observation, I'm hearing more and more doctors/researchers are indicating they are aware of ApoE4, but no one is focusing on ApoE4 singul...
