Re: New Test Results: CAC Score and LDL-P
I view the simvastatin group as the control. With respect to the placebo effect, I'm relying on prior studies showing that simvastatin effects exceed placebo.

Outstanding thread - great comments from everyone and lots of food for thought here. Julie, your lengthy post was most excellent!
Has anyone read the full text of the Swedish research group's phospholipid precursor supplementation paper? I'm curious as to the supplements they used.

Re: Getting to the "Meat" of the matter...
I had trouble with the link to the second paper. Here's one that works for me: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.1469-1809.1999.6340301.x/pdf. I don't find the first hypothesis, that E3 evolved to support meat consumption, to be persuasive. It's a lengthy, complicated narrative relying up...

Re: Fish Oil
The Pizzorno paper is interesting, and many of its claims seem plausible. Without reading each of the references - so much work! - I come away with the following: 1. In general, E4 carriers do not benefit from consuming fatty fish. 2. Physically active E4 carriers who consume traditional non-process...

I'm CC at rs17070145. I have always considered memory/recall to be one of my weaker cognitive attributes - maybe this SNP is a factor?

Re: Fish Oil
A quick search for "parent essential oils" will turn up multiple ways to purchase expensive bottles of Peskin's proprietary blend of exotic-sounding oils - evening primrose, flax, pumpkin, etc. The two scientifically-styled papers that have been linked here focus lots of energy on the &quo...

Re: Evidence in Favor of a High Fat Diet
I reviewed the thread and found nothing about Perlmutter. It seems to be a collection of links to studies and, in the most recent case, a journal editorial. Are you suggesting that the authors of all those studies are "followers" of this Dr. Perlmutter? I did notice a remark about the LFD ...
