COMT rs4680 and Placebo Response

From a new study: "Patients homozygous for the rs4680 low-activity met allele (met/met), known to have high levels of dopamine, had the greatest placebo response. The high-activity val allele homozygous (val/val) patients had the lowest placebo response." Met/met is AA. Val/val is GG. Here...

Re: Advice? Support? Info?

RS4420638 is another snp that is in strong but not perfect LD with apoe. Usually apoe3/3 is AA but some people with apoe3/4 are also AA. It doesn't tend to go the other way however -- that is someone who is 3/3 will not be AG.

Re: Psen2 Clinical trials

I actually have a PSEN1 mutation of possible concern, no PSEN2s. No history of early onset dementia in my family and I'm 64. Just wondering whether Doc got any more info on the PSENs.

Re: Psen2 Clinical trials

Doc,

Did you ever pursue the study at the U of Washington. I also have a PSEN mutation -- not sure how serious it is -- but am still concerned so I'm wondering what your experience has been with them. Thanks.

Re: A strange tale on supplemtation

JanPeter,

Have you looked at your snps related to methylation especially the serotonin/dopamine ones?
