Re: Heavy Metals testing

Dr. Bredesen says that people improve on his protocol even if they don't successfully fix all the holes in their roof. Quite possibly, from testing method > interpretation > protocol there's a lot of room for fudge factors in the context of comprehensive changes. Agreed! I believe that for many peo...

Re: Heavy Metals testing

My conclusion for now is that probably everyone has some metals to chelate, and maybe rather than worrry about whether the tests are up to snuff or not and spenilding money on them, it’s better to just adopt a slow detox/chelation lifestyle. What percentage of testers are clean of all metal toxicit...

Re: Anxiety!

Hello Wondering. I too am post-menopausal and struggle with anxiety and difficulty staying sleep and have tried quite a few things over the years, including SSRI's (not a good match for me) and trazodone (works great for sleep but dried my mouth out too much, and I think it might be a little bit ant...

Re: Super Immunity in General?

Being 4/4 definitely has NOT provided me with super immunity. In fact, I sometimes wonder if it is the opposite -- more of a vulnerability gene. Although I was not a particularly sickly child, I've had far more than my share of immune system failures as an adult, including my current battle with rea...

Re: Heavy Metals testing

My FM doc wants me to do a Doctor's Data provoked heavy metal test, so I'm reviving this thread with some questions and concerns that I did not see covered: 1. I'm concerned that test results could be misleading. How accurate and meaningful is provoked testing? Has anyone complemented the provoked t...

Re: Is ApoE4 Neanderthal?

This is all quite fascinating -- and confusing! I think I need a summary in plain English. :? I did some digging and couldn't find any evidence that Neanderthal DNA is over-represented in APOE4 carriers. If there is a connection, it could simply be Northern European ancestry. But while on the topic ...

Re: How many of us 4/4 are out there?

Greetings Lulitamae! In spite of there being millions of 4/4's out there, I know that I felt very abnormal and unlucky when I learned I was 4/4 in late 2016. I wondered, "Why me?" I had never felt so alone. Fortunately, I found this wonderful site soon afterwards, and connecting with other...

Re: First Blood Results: Very High Homocysteine

For what it's worth, my functional medicine doctor had me take TMG to quickly reduce my homocysteine (which I recall was 10.4), and it worked like a charm. I began working with this doctor several months after I had started taking sublingual B12, followed methylfolate and B6, so I don't know what my...

Re: Sleep!

I starting taking CBD oil about three months ago and although I don't necessarily sleep more hours per night (typically about 6), my sleep now seems deeper and less fragmented. I also feel less sleep-deprived.

Re: Is ApoE4 Neanderthal?

This is something I have wondered too, as a 4/4 with more Neanderthal DNA than 99% of 23andMe users.

I’ve had this thought too but couldn’t find anything difinitive.
