Re: Dr. Rhonda: Get some DHA in phospholipid form
Continuing the discussion on the actual amount of phospholipid-bound DHA and EPA in products purporting to contain them. In my post two entries above, I point out that the Nordic Naturals Phospholipid label and advertising material do not state the actual amount of phospholipid-bound DHA and EPA. in...

Shankpushpi, Triphala, Resolvins?
I’m curious about the more obscure remedies mentioned by Bredesen that are not much discussed on this board and are not much mentioned elsewhere especially with respect to Alzheimer’s treatment. He mentions them in his book but with little discussion. Consider his daily recommended herbs (p. 188). I...

Re: Dr. Rhonda: Get some DHA in phospholipid form
Much of the EPA and DHA in krill oil is bound to phospholipids, but EPA and DHA in krill oil is far lower in quantity than found in in an equivalent volume of regular fish oil with EPA and DHA bound to triglycerides. Perhaps one could combine krill oil with fish oil two to one - just loose speculati...

Re: How healthy is your Mucosa Layer?
About kimchi as a nasal probiotic. I googled around on that and tried it a few weeks ago. I liked it - made my nose happy. http://lactobacto.com/tag/kimchi/ Some kimchi works and some doesn't, the site claims. Kimchi with garlic contains the lactobacillus sakei, which exists from about 14 days to tw...

Don’t Rage, rage against the dying of the light!
Hi I’m a near newbie, not too active, I just thought I’d share something…amusing? …outrageous? …dumbfounding? My health-system clinic where I’ve gone for 10 years just switched me from one of the area’s leading family practice physicians to a physician in her first post who specializes in women’s he...

Introduced myself once a few months ago. APOE 4/4, mid-60s, cognitively intact. I just registered with Muses Lab. I hope I am contacted and ultimately selected. However, I think that unlikely. Meanwhile, I can’t afford doing Muses Lab at my own expense or doing other boutique medicine. I was already...

Biochemists’ commentary on Bredesen Protocol
So as not to provide duplicate information, I searched the site for mention of James P Watson, Vince Giuiliano, and their blog Anti-Aging Firewalls, but found no mention. One entry of interest to people at APOE4 is a review of the Bredesen protocol from a biochemical standpoint. Although a well-educ...

Re: Introduction; Hypertension Medication; Nilvadipine
GeorgeN, thanks for your detailed information and practical suggestions. I’m grateful that you took the time to help me out. I’m not salt sensitive. I’ve tested my BP multiple times per day under excessive salt and minimal salt conditions: no difference. However, when circumstances are stabilized I ...

Re: Introduction; Hypertension Medication; Nilvadipine
Julie Gee, Kitano, Stavia, karalena, thanks for your generous and learned observations. I’ve read many of your other comments and know who you are. Your replies reduce uncertainty and are quite useful to me in other ways. I did find several medical publications reporting cases of edema from ACE inhi...

Introduction; Hypertension Medication; Nilvadipine
Hi, I’m a 67-year-old scholar. I found out I was apoe 4/4 in January. Newbie as of January and lurker since then. I located the Bredesen protocol before finding this board and it turns out I’m already doing more than half of the recommendations. I’ve been taking the ACE inhibitor benazepril 10 mg/da...
