Re: Help understanding my lipid profile and statin choices?
Hi Bladedmind. I have my sympathy for your dilemma. A couple of thoughts: Rosuvastatin tablets can be cut easily. It doesnt matter hugely if the halves are not exactly equal. An option could be to start on 2.5mg EOD.( This is not specific medical advice for you, just a thought). I had awful brain fo...

Re: RE: Re: Do I need B12 injections?
so my advice is to track some blood markers, make the change and test again. Hi all, So here I am again with a new MMA test a year later. (My ferritin is now 39.) This time I made sure to avoid taking any B12 two days before my test: Methylmalonic Acid: 2.5 (normal range is 1.9 or lower) Tricosanoi...

Hi Mountainman, welcome.
This is an issue you should consult your doctor about. We are unable to give specific medical advice on the forum.
It may be innocuous, it may be serious - I urge you to seek a medical opinion in person.

Re: RE: Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women
I went off bHRT over the summer because of problems with bleeding. Hot flashes have been horrendous, so I've gone back on but at a lower dose--.025 E--which seems to be helping a little. But the progesterone is SUCH a problem for me! I can't tolerate the oral at all. I don't want a Mirena (too many...

Re: Finger print patterns and AD
I came across this in an AD book written by Elwood Cohen M.D. It almost sounds bogus so I thought I'd bring it up. Cohen states that " finger print patterns provide an early marker in identifying AD years before its onset". If the ulnar loops point away from the thumb, toward the little f...

Re: Worsened Lipids from Adding Eggs?
Ps one needs a significant amount of heavy alcohol intake to raise MCV above normal. This amount of alcohol will cause GGT to be above normal as well. A couple of glasses of wine wont do it.

Re: Worsened Lipids from Adding Eggs?
Hi WifeofJoel Most of us dont overly stress about our lipids, as there is no strong correlation with AD risk. Especially at your age I personally wouldnt factor lipids into my strategies at all. I recommend you step back and look at the big picture in terms of your strategies. I have written many ti...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women
Its all n=1. I wanted to share this because I'm unexpectedly blown away by the difference in how I feel, sleep and how much sharper my cognition is within 2 days with a dose increase from 25mcg to 50mcg. I suspect there is a threshold effect in my brain, and if it is a 4/4 effect, others may be hel...

Re: RE: Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women
I think, in general, we should listen to our bodies feedback. We are just beginning to understand differences between people based on genetics. I'm glad I rejected birth control pills based on subtle differences that I couldn't even verbalize, but knew they made me feel worse. Now knowing that I ha...
