Re: Gluten

thank you both for weighing in (no pun intended) 8-) It's great to have collaborating colleagues on this wild journey. Probably should have said that I use pubmed for my research and couldn't find anything there. I looked at the abstracts that Dr Perlmutter referenced in Grain Brain specifically for...

Re: Gluten

This forum hasn't been used for a while, but seemed the appropriate one for my gluten question... Has anyone found a published study on negative effect of gluten on cognition? There are papers discussing neurological effects from gluten in some people (often not with gut symptoms), but typically are...

Re: my ApoE4 story so far

JulieGee - I continue to have an easy menopause, managed well with Traditional Chinese herbs which I constantly try to reduce to see how little I need to function. And at this point, the less pills the better :) . Still get regular acupuncture as well, more for mood and energy. Still hoping that all...

my ApoE4 story so far

To my ApoE4 tribe; I learned of my homozygous ApoE4 status in 2011 from a “functional medicine” test described to me as informative about my ability to benefit from statins. Since I had been on almost all prescription statins for high LDL cholesterol for years with great results and without problems...

Re: 2016 Ancestral Health Meetup - Stavia's blog

I expected most non-scientists would have expected a list like 1. Exercise 2. Fast 3.Stop sugar 4. Take curcumin etc. But the thing is that each of these examples have multiple biochemical effects. I'd call your non-scientist list the Michael Pollen list! My expected list of memory "holes"...

Re: 2016 Ancestral Health Meetup - Stavia's blog

[/quote] So does anyone happen to have a list from this paper of the statins hypothesized to be safer for e4s, or ones to avoid? The article's behind a paywall and I have a followup with my mother's neurologist tomorrow and she's on prevastatin. I'll take her the name of the article, but if a change...
