Re: Is hair dye bad for us?

I use hair dye from Holland & Barrett health stores that are supposed to be free of most of the toxic chemicals present in regular brands of hair dye. I also use henna that I have to order online because none of the shops sell it where I live.

apoe4 children have lower IQ`s ?

Iv`e read a couple of articles recently that claims children with the apoe4 gene are less intelligent that other genotypes. It claims that apoe4`s start life with a marked disadvantage, especially girls. This would explain why I got such terrible marks in school and left at 15 with no qualifications!

Re: CAD106 and CNP520

At the end of May I volunteered to take part in a recognition study on alzheimer`s risk for apoe4`s. They took swabs for genetic samples & gave me a questionaire to fill out. I havwn`t heard back from them yest.

Re: Does Alzheimer's Disease Stem From Infection?

If someone is infected with these viruses, this news is only going to scare them more because there`s no cure for the virus.

Low serum b12?

Iv`e just received a message from a genetic testing lab called Genomelink that I signed up to, telling me that I`m genetically predisposed to low serum b12 levels. Does this have anything to do with the apoe4 gene? & should i be taking a supplement?

How frightened should I be?

I know that apoe4 increases alzheimers risk, but by how much? & at what age does it usually strike? I an`t stop worrying about it. Iv`e enrolled in a study on alzheimers in London, but I may have to have a study buddy to continue. The trouble is that I don`t know anyone that I could trust with t...

Re: Tell my children or not?

I sincerely wish that I`d been able to find out my apoe4 status when I was in my teens, before I stupidly got pregnant at 17. the baby was adopted. We have since been in touch, & I warned him about the history of heart disease on my mother`s side of the family, I know that I should also warn him...

Testosterone therapy.

Iv`e been reading about the effects of testosterone therapy on older women, & apparently it improves brain health. This would make some sense when it`s known that men are less susceptible to alzheimers that women. I`m wondering if it`s safe to try this.
