Re: Getting an insurance covered baseline when you're not symptomatic (?)
... If you want a research-based, free, confidential and quick test of your attention, processing speed, immediate and long-term visual memory, you might try the APT Webstudy . While the goal is to identify people whose scores might change by 10 points over time for clinical trials, there's absolut...

Getting an insurance covered baseline when you're not symptomatic (?)
Has anyone gotten a full neurologist workup covered by insurance for the purposes of having a baseline but when you're cognitively still healthy? I think I would like to do this, but presumably my PCP and I need to have a code to get it covered by insurance, and I don't want something ending up in m...

Re: Lecanemab vs Percepta/Cat's Claw
What a fascinating idea! … I hope some investors and/or the NIH decide to give the rats a break and begin to explore this in human AD trials. If I could only get a PET for baseline before making myself a guinea pig. There is one place near me that just might do this as part of a full cognitive base...

Lecanemab vs Percepta/Cat's Claw
Hello Sage Ones, I'm thinking of adding the Percepta/Cat's Claw (+oolong tea) supplement to my regimen. This is the supplement founded by Drs. Snow and Tanzi. The Amazon rain forest plant Uncaria tomentosa (cat's claw) and its specific proanthocyanidin constituents are potent inhibitors and reducers...

Re: Beer's List No Longer Available to Consumers
Good grief. The American Geriatrics Society, in apparent paternalistic glory (?), has taken the 2023 Beer's List of medications that increase the risk of dementia undercover. To view it, one has to register at their website and disclose their "Primary Affiliation and Title," effectively l...

Re: What’s your Omega-3 dose?
Years ago, my doctor recommended the New Rhythm brand of krill oil. Then it became hard to get, they don't seem to make it anymore. Don't know why, not a COVID thing, it disappeared before the pandemic. I did a cursory investigation and settled on what seemed to be a good brand at the time. But you...

Re: Whole Foods Plant Based Diet for Prevention
I am adding this thread to our Prevention and Treatment forum so that members may post tips, questions, and comments about a Whole Foods Plant Based diet for AD prevention. I'm looking for plant-based ways to increase my zinc levels. I think I have always been on the low end, even when I was an omn...

Re: Dutch Woman With Dementia Euthanized Against Her Will. The Doctor Was Just Cleared Of Wrongdoing.
In my limited experience (ADx2), the burden can be huge before the more advanced stage, when/if the person is trying to live independently and learn new things even though they can't, constantly calling for help with this and that because they're taking on more than they're capable of and some frie...

Re: Join a Lecanamab Webinar
I agree absolutely in the need for "appropriate screening for CAA and ARIA" both before the drug is prescribed and especially during the early months and recommend the in-depth Lecanemab: Appropriate Use Recommendations [AUR] published March 2023, which were referenced by the FDA Advisory...
