Re: Dr. Steven Gundry with diet recommendations for ApoE4
Thank you GeorgeN. I checked out the PDF and it looks far too restrictive for my taste. I'm still leaning towards the Perfect Health Diet. I'll see how it goes. So far my LDL, even though way too high, has been the big and fluffy type. I attribute that to lots of fish oil, even though I've read fish...

Re: Dr. Steven Gundry with diet recommendations for ApoE4
For those of us new to all things Gundry what is his latest recommendation for the percent of diet to be high fat/meat and does he have a book out now that reflects his most current way of thinking?

Re: UPDATE re. an E4 trial with Dr. Dale Bredesen
Sandraz - Can you summarize the BHRT subject and point me in the right direction so I don't have to start from the beginning? I take it it is Bio-identical hormone replacement, right? But what does it consist of and for approximately what ages and for how long? Is there a link you can provide? Thank...

Re: Dr. Steven Gundry with diet recommendations for ApoE4
Julie - Are you really following Gundry's recommendations? I thought I saw you post somewhere that you are eating "65% fat, 20% protein and 15% carb. My diet is decidedly Mediterranean, with lots of MUFAs." Was that you? I am new to all this and find Gundry's diet depressingly low in meat....

Re: Methylation and AD
Rep here again. I also want to point out that Dr. Bredesen lists methyl-folate and methyl-B12 as supplements for his study. So I figure there is something I definitely do not understand about the study mentioned above and methylation and would sincerely appreciate an explanation. Again, it seems to ...

Re: Methylation and AD
I need help here. I thought methylation is a good thing. My methylation results show the need for more methylation in the form of methyl-B12 and methyl-folate. Does the research cited above imply that adding methyl groups in those forms and others such as taking SAM-E would be bad for those with apo...

Re: Warnings for a HFLC Diet
Julie - What is wrong with the starchy carbs? I am ready to get started on the Perfect Health Diet and they recommend lots of meat and fish (but not pork) and lots of veggies with potatoes, squash and white rice.

Re: UPDATE re. an E4 trial with The Buck Institute
Thank you, Juliegee. The person I represent lives close to the Buck Institute. Would you ask if any testing could be done directly at or through their site free of charge? It is easy for this person to get there. Also, did anyone see the New York Times article from October 12 titled Breakthrough Rep...
