Re: Gathering Recipes—I need your help!

ru442, I love miso! My kids are purists though - lol! I am substituting and the soy I use is organic, fermented, so I feel good about it. Basmati rice is delish and I use it.. Those girls are rice snobs and they definitely prefer jasmine rice. My cabinet has 6 kinds of rice -seriously. I just don't ...

Re: Lectins and their benefits

This is fabulous information. Thank you. I read the book and have found several things that I take issue with, factually ,regarding ancients and their diets, habits, height. That may not negate his theory but I do question and try to think through the issues as I try to figure out my personal protoc...

Re: Gathering Recipes—I need your help!

I have trouble finding free range poultry in my area so I am settling for just plain organic- NGMO. I have two daughters adopted from China and we have so much Asian food. Tonight my oldest is home from college and wants the traditional Taiwanese 3 cup chicken. I am doing the best I can in terms of ...

Re: New to RECODE, help with diet please

Cindy, I am new also and it is quite a change of thinking of my existing food paradigm also! There are so many people on this board with way more experience and knowledge, but from what I gather, olive oil is good as well as some others. I was listening to the Awakening From Alzheimer's podcasts and...

Re: tea for Apoe4

I hope this has some truth- love tea and champagne! But people in China drink tea constantly, with every meal, every day. Green, Black, Oolong. Been there a lot, in many Provinces, city and countryside: the same--- tea, tea, tea. Is their rate of Alzheimer lower than non tea drinking countries? That...

Re: Keto diet and dry mouth

Elaine, I am experiencing this as well with a low carb diet. I am a dentist and have seen 1000s of time the havoc dry mouth can cause, especially in elderly patients on all those mouth drying drugs. Be positive your teeth are immaculately clean including flossed ((technique is important or you will ...

Re: A Little Help w/the numbers and a Note of Caution

Searcher, Thank you. You are right and I reacted badly. I found Casein A2 cheese, roasted a big cauliflower and added some protein. Also made organic kale chips with olive oil- very delish. I need recipes, seriously. Where can I get them? I am not a person who can get by without cooking and eating w...

Re: A Little Help w/the numbers and a Note of Caution

Maddenwill, Thanks for the words of caution about going full tilt! I just can't think of how to eat under the protocol so I just eat a leafy salad and an olive. I need recipes and ingredients and time to think. Meanwhile, I am kind of afraid to eat. Not good.

Re: Thoughts on Disclosure? (Who have you told?)

I have told only my brothers and sister the full disclosure of my APEO4/APEO2 status. We have such a strong maternal family history of this disease and my mother had the worst and longest clinical course among my family members ( grandmother and great grandmother). I want my sibs to take care of the...
