Re: Lemon juice in warm water to break fast questions
Susan J, that is wonderfully helpful. Thank you so much. Yes, I agree, there are several major triumphs packed in that small beginner plan. If I can master this, adding on more from there should be much easier. This fits in my personal motto: poco a poco. =) So, I could drink lemon water, or tea, or...

Re: I guess the overwhelm has begun
Sounds like a break may be what you need at this time... When you mentioned spending the $149 for testing, did you mean for ApoE status? If you haven't read the thinking about testing link, you may find it helpful in making your decision. If there is a family history of AD, or you yourself are expe...

Lemon juice in warm water to break fast questions
First, I am not having a lot of success searching so please forgive me if this is already asked and answered, or even just off topic. I had learned, years ago, of some benefits from having first in the mornings a drink of fresh squeezed lemon juice in hot water (now I use warm). I'm not far enough a...

Re: Brain HQ
You’re all inspiring me to use this. I dabbled a little in the past but have a terrible time structuring it into my day. Just curious when you do it? Maybe I could aim for the same time and feel it was a group activity :) Circular, this is the kind of suggestion I find very useful, and, I was just ...

I guess the overwhelm has begun
I tried starting half a dozen steps in the right direction. Making sure I got enough sleep. Breaking my fast in the mornings with fresh squeezed lemon in warm water. More eggs. At least three colors of vegetables at meals. Less sugar. Taking a few supplements. A walk a day. Reading some Breseden or ...

Re: Mind your ApoA1 levels!
Dr Gundry... He’s okay with eggs for ApoE4s, as long as the consumption is kept low and he only recommends Omega-3 eggs or pastured eggs (not cage-free, but the eggs from chickens who get to run around and eat insects, animal poop, food scraps, etc., and OBTW these eggs are hard to find). Thank you...

Re: New here? Some Best Practices
Wow. Thanks, Ski. Very helpful. I have hit some already but now know some more first things to focus on.
And thank you, Slavia. I did not know there was a newcomer's forum. I really need one! LOL

Re: Mind your ApoA1 levels!
If we don't have as much garbage to remove, we will have lower HDL. This is actually a sign of good health and requires a more nuanced understand of cholesterol metabolism than just thinking, "High HDL is good". -Not necessarily! I'm new and had no idea how to look at these numbers. This ...

Re: Wading in, sometimes fast, sometimes slow
Love your motto and those are great places to start. Most warmly Sylvie Thank you very much, Sylvie, for the warm welcome! The "poco a poco" (little by little) motto has helped me many times and has resulted in learning I can climb any mountain if I am willing to take small enough steps. ...

Re: Wading in, sometimes fast, sometimes slow
Proud of you for making changes despite not knowing your APOE status... You will feel SO much better either way. RU Thank you, RU, for the encouragement, especially since I was feeling iffy about my decisions. Very helpful. I should have given a shout out to Stavia, because I had been thinking abou...
