Re: Large doses of B12- pointless?
SusanJ - I also take the b12 sublingual lozenge. . . and have been for a few years now. Unfortunately, my blood level surged significantly (<2000), yet my fatigue/brain fog continued and my homocysteine still is somewhat high at 9.9. My FM doc suggested I stop taking it for now, but I'm a bit concer...

Re: New to the list
Lindy - it sure is the ultimate maze! I ended up purchasing the digital set (as I'm sure many did), so I'm wondering if some folks can help by digging into it and providing information for specific areas/topics you are interested to learn more about. There are also FMCA (Functional Medicine Coaching...

Re: Taking care with methyl folate
Thanks for adding this site to the wiki page Susan!
I am curious if anyone has an opinion of needing Bs (at least b12 and folate) if homocysteine result isn't ideal - mine is currently at 9.9 (Mar18). Thoughts?

Re: Heavy Metals testing
Doctor’s Data provocation test revealed elevated mercury, arsenic, thallium and cadmium (into the yellow band) , but lead level was literally off the charts. Mine ran all the way through the red zone, and if the red zone were wider, it would have continued. normal range <2 , mine is 38. Greetings flo...

Re: Newbie! Taking this ride with everyone for better or worse. . .
I am finally getting around to posting my history of labs. . . would love some help to interpret. I am in the process of getting an updated Boston Heart report (as well as DUTCH Hormone Panel and Toxic Metals - Urine). Here are my numbers: Genetic : E3/E4 PSEN1: rs3025786 (T:T) - highlighted in red ...

Re: Large doses of B12- pointless?
FWIW, I'm also Dxed with macrocytosis with no known origin. Testing reveals that I'm not anemic, but my RBCs are too large and misshapen as evidenced by chronically high MCV and MCH which may play a part in my needing higher levels. I suspect that my chronic Babesiosis (which infects RBCs) may play...

Re: Large doses of B12- pointless?
Julie - I'm so glad you mentioned this. . . I, too, have chronically high MCV and MCH but my doctors have not focused on this at all. Should I pursue this more aggressively?

Re: Taking care with methyl folate
I do refer to Dr. Lynch's site and book often, but I thought I'd share another site that appears to help us non-medical people "translate" the methylation pathways into layman's terms. Is this something worthy of adding to the reference or wiki page? https://www.dietvsdisease.org/category/...

Re: Large doses of B12- pointless?
My ND had me on 10,000 mcg lozenge of methyl B12 and 5 mg of l-methylfolate for extreme fatigue/lack of energy and focus. . .it wasn't helping (she then suggested B12 shots which I did not do). I am compound hetero - I ended up over-methylating and was absolutely miserable! It didn't help that my EB...
