Re: ProLon Experience
As an update today I obtained my Lipid Panel from my Cholestech LDX analyzer 10 days after completing my FMD (they suggest waiting 1 week) and compared it to the one taken the morning I started: ---------------7/9-------------7/25 TC-------------242-------------209 HDL------------55---------------45...

Re: ProLon Experience
Thanks for the link NewRon. Lots of interesting comments. The research around the FMD seems pretty solid. My guess is that some day it will likely become an adjunct to the standard care for many disorders.

ProLon Experience
This week I completed my first cycle of the ProLon Fasting Mimicking Diet. I've been toying with the idea for a while then came across a YouTube video of Dr. Joel Kahn who highly endorsed it and that sold me. Although I am not a vegan, I know he is one of its biggest advocates and talked like the FM...

Re: Ron Krauss MD Interview on Heart Disease
No. But not surprised as Dr. Krauss does mention our group and a meeting he had with some of us a couple of years back.

Yup. Peter has also admitted that he is lazy and gives props to Rhonda Patrick for doing so for her podcasts. That said he does provide numerous show notes with the times.

Ron Krauss MD Interview on Heart Disease
Thought this Peter Attia podcast where he interviews Dr. Krauss may be of interest. It is somewhat long at almost 2 hrs but covers many interesting topics. He talks about the importance of LDL particle count and size, the use of statins, the role of inflammation, niacin and why its been unjustly dis...

Re: Another negative lipid profile trend
by NF52 » Sun Jun 17, 2018 9:47 pm Hi Jim, Like you, I had sky high LDL-P, and Lp(a), although with a clear CAC. I am on a low dose of atorvastatin, which has halved the LDL-P score (haven’t checked the Lp(a), but expect it to not change much. I too asked my Dr. about Dayspring’s recommendations to...

Re: Another negative lipid profile trend
Got my labs done again and although some improvement, still a mixed bag: ---------------------4/5/18-------------- 6/5/18 Glucose---------------- 98------------------76 T Chol----------------- 261-----------------225 LDL--------------------182-----------------155 HDL-------------------- 55----------...

Statins and CAC Scores
I seem to remember a post on this topic recently but thought wouldn't hurt to repeat. The essence of this study in Cardiovascular Diagnosis & Therapy, June 2016 is: "Therefore, in brief: (I) CAC progression is an independent predictor of events; (II) statins promote plaque regression; and (...

Re: Another negative lipid profile trend
Thanks RU for your thoughts. I went through your story over the past 2 years and it looks like you have made some amazing progress. Congratulations! Hope all continues well when you get your updated numbers. Like you I am looking at my score as history with the objective of keeping it where it is or...
