Peter Attia Fast
Peter Attia has a good post and podcast on his latest fasting experience with his own lab work posted as well. The most surprising thing which I learnt about him, in which I think also speaks volumes in terms of how neutral/open he remains on these topics, is that he takes Metformin, a statin, as we...

Re: Sulforphane clears amyloid plaques and tau tangles
Frustrating. I'd rather pay for a pill than have to work with the sprout preparation etc. Not to mention the pill seems pretty efficacious. Honestly, Ive been preparing my own sprouts for about 2 months now and it has to be the easiest thing out there and Ive had nothing but consistent yields doing...

Re: Cannabinoids remove plaque-forming Alzheimer's proteins from brain cells
Great job Theresa. Im conflicted by the information on whether one needs both THC and CBD for the neuroprotective effects or is CBD alone sufficient?

Re: Psychedelic Drugs
Ive lately been very intrigued by the possibilities of psychedelics particularly psilocybin, from a mental illness, anxiety and general soul provoking perspective. From what Ive read, seems like there is no evidence of neurotoxicity risks...Im sure in moderation though.

Re: Simvastatin and the ApoE4 Allele
I would say that the majority of statin users on this forum, including myself, take it because they have documented vascular disease. Id say that is your first step in making any informed decision on whether to go a pharmaceutical route. I personally would never take it for what appears to be very c...

I pressure cook mine and to my surprise, pressure cooking retains 83% of Sulforaphane.
Cooking Method Sulforaphane Retention
Boiling 0%
Steaming 0%
Pressure Cooking 83.2%
Microwave 61.1%
Microwave Pressure 97.3%

Re: Joe Rogan Experience #1108 - Peter Attia
I like Peter Attia too and thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. Of particular interest was his short explanation of his own teams finding with regards to IGF-1. I reference this post where it was discussed and where it was also mentioned that apparently Gundry likes to keep it lower: https://apoe4.info/...

Re: Large doses of B12- pointless?
There was also a recent study that came out showing higher doses (and they wernt that high) of B12&B6 were shown to have a 2-4 fold increase in risk of lung cancer in men. Was enough for me to cut way back.
