Re: Lipo a

Have you guys read about coq10, or Ubiquinol? It’s supposed to help lower lpa..... I've taken Ubiquinol (100mg) for a couple of years (and CoQ10 supplements before that). I hadn't heard that it lowered Lp(a) levels. Briefly looking at the internet suggests some potential (one study I looked at, not...

Or somewhat more sarcastically: IS IT TIME TO STOP EATING DEADLY EGGS OR TIME TO STOP PUTTING NUTRITIONAL EPIDEMIOLOGY IN THE HEADLINES?

Re: Lipo a

I was just kind of confused of her lab difference.. I use quest and they measure the same way so a reading of 205 and then 75 is a pretty drastic drop. FWIW, Lp(a) is reported in either nmol/L and mg/dL, which can be confusing. There are various conversion approximations on the internets, apparentl...

The Tsimane are Amazonian, so I don't think they have coconuts, but they do have native nuts.

Re: Lipo a

Does anyone have high lipo a? I just found out I do and it’s genetic!! It’s a huge factor in heart disease and stroke. Apoe4/4 and now this:( Yep, I'm an Lp(a) overachiever. The https://www.lipoproteinafoundation.org/ site that NF52 linked to is a great resource. You may also want to skim this rece...

Re: positive or negative experiences with Ashwaganda

The nightshade comments above are interesting as I believe I’m nightshade sensitive — potatoes and tomatoes give me issues. Somewhat tangentially - I was interested to find there is (at least one) SNP variant associated with poor processing of nightshades: rs1799807 (G). And even more tangentially,...
