financial headline today: "Crispr Therapeutics and Vertex Infused the First Human in a Landmark Gene-Editing Study". bye, bye E4/E/4 ? (actually probably years from approval). L. 3/4

Re: Researchers Identify Molecule With Anti-Aging Effects On Vascular System
study head says this has applicability to AD, because AD is an age-related disease. this seems to give added weight to the vascular theory of AD promoted by the U.Texas group and others, which as far as I can tell, Bredesen has failed to address. L. 3/4

Re: Breaking down longevity characteristics
I should have said Walsh is all about neurotransmitters and their effects on various diseases and conditions and the effect nutrients have on neurotransmitters. he has huge databases and seems to have solved autism and most of depression (5 kinds, 5 different neurotransmitters) and has taken a large...

Re: Breaking down longevity characteristics
guessing u agree w Dr. Walsh and most that the cause of aging is the breaking down of DNA, so the trick would b to limit the damage and/ or enhance the repair. Walsh said in 2015 the Nobel Prize was given to 3 Docs whom I think figured out the DNA repair mechanism, which Walsh thinks is the most imp...

Re: Neutrophil adhesion in brain capillaries reduces cortical blood flow and impairs memory function in Alzheimer’s dise
the reason the Cornell Prof. Shaffer says this could be "a complete game-changer for AD suffers" is that they know how to get an improved blood flow, and this flow leads to "an IMMEDIATE restoration of cognitive performance of spatial and memory-forming tasks". I don't know a lot...

Re: Neutrophil adhesion in brain capillaries reduces cortical blood flow and impairs memory function in Alzheimer’s dise
EVERYONE should read the "Science Daily" summary on this, because the top scientist on the study at Cornell says, " this could be a big game-changer for AD patients" and they have already identified 20 drugs which may alleviate the problem, many of which r already FDA approved, s...

Re: Copper/Zinc and Zinc Supplementation
to pursue the contrast between 1900 and today a little further, Bredesen says people over 60 today may have 45 "holes in their roof" any several of which could cause cognitive decline, but if people in 1900 had virtually no AD, it must mean the holes they had in their roofs were NOT meanin...

Re: Copper/Zinc and Zinc Supplementation
wow!, thanx Plumster- Walsh is great. I'm going to check him out further. wonder if he is on a somewhat parallel track from Bredesen. L.

Re: Copper/Zinc and Zinc Supplementation
If Prof. George Brewer is correct, that there was no Alzheimers before 1900, or at least no mention of anything like it from the top research docs, medical textbooks, or pathologists of the day (and no Abeta plaques or tangles seen in autopsies). given 3.2 million people age 60 or over in 1900, ther...

Copper/Zinc and Zinc Supplementation
In searching for a Hail Mary play to stabilize or reverse my wife, Bredesen's book comments on copper/zinc led me to Dr. George Brewer's paper in the (free) Journal: "Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience" 2014, which in turn led me to C. Corona's paper in the journal "Cell Death and Diseas...
